About The Role

As the Regional Ecosystem Satellite Manager, you will lead the localization, growth, and coordination of Aptos’ satellite communities in strategic global markets. You’ll empower regional leaders to build vibrant, Aptos-aligned communities while developing a standardized playbook and shared backend infrastructure to ensure consistency, scalability, and measurable impact. As the central contact between regional hubs and Aptos Foundations’ Ecosystem, Grants, Marketing, DevRel, and Community teams, you’ll drive cross-functional alignment to amplify grassroots engagement and builder participation. This role is perfect for a Web3 strategist passionate about community building, operational excellence, and creating scalable systems in a dynamic, decentralized environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support and grow regional satellite communities by equipping local leaders with tools, mentorship, and strategies to drive engagement, host Aptos-aligned events, and achieve quarter-over-quarter growth in active community members.

  • Create and maintain a comprehensive playbook for satellite communities, documenting best practices, success metrics and event templates, adopted by all hubs.

  • Design and implement a unified backend system (e.g., CRM, community dashboards, or KPI trackers) to streamline coordination, enable real-time reporting, and reduce operational overhead.

  • Facilitate bi-weekly syncs and quarterly summits to share insights, toolkits, and scalable models, ensuring all hubs adopt shared resources within their first quarter.

  • Assess existing and potential satellite hubs, evaluate key players, funding needs, and regional relevance to prioritize high-impact regions for expansion, and develop structured onboarding programs.

  • Partner with regional leads to identify and onboard high-potential builders and connect them to Aptos Foundation’s grants, hackathons, and builder programs.

  • Define and monitor OKRs (e.g., community growth, event attendance, builder conversions), and deliver monthly reports to stakeholders highlighting progress, challenges, and ecosystem contributions.

Required Experience & Skills:

We’re seeking a candidate with a global mindset, operational excellence, and a passion for Web3 community development.

  • 3-5 years of experience in international community building, ecosystem development, or regional growth strategy, ideally in Web3, blockchain, or tech ecosystems.

  • Strong understanding of Web3, including decentralized communities, tokenomics, with familiarity in blockchain culture and trends.

  • Proven ability to develop scalable processes, playbooks, and backend tools (e.g., CRMs, dashboards, or reporting systems) in fast-paced environments.

  • Exceptional organizational skills with experience managing cross-functional projects across multiple regions, cultures, and time zones.

  • Demonstrated success in aligning diverse stakeholders and driving results in collaborative, non-hierarchical settings.

  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate strategies clearly and navigate multicultural discussions with diplomacy.

  • Strong judgment in evaluating proposals, teams, and partnerships, ensuring alignment with Aptos’ mission while mitigating risks.

  • Thrives in a startup-like environment, able to iterate quickly and build infrastructure from scratch.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Multilingual proficiency, especially in regions of strategic importance to Aptos.

  • Experience managing community ambassadors, developer relations, or education programs.

  • Familiarity with decentralized Web3 community operations tools such as Discord, Telegram, and Airtable.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
