As a Refinery Account Representative - El Segundo, CA, you will be responsible for managing customer relationships, supporting business growth, and delivering technical and commercial solutions that create value for refinery customers. You will work closely with customers and cross-functional teams to identify opportunities, support operational excellence, and ensure successful execution of account strategies while maintaining high standards of service and customer satisfaction.

As a Refinery Account Representative- El Segundo, CA, you will leverage your commercial acumen, relationship-building skills, and industry knowledge to support customer success and business growth. You will play a key role in developing long-term partnerships, driving strategic initiatives, identifying new opportunities, and coordinating resources to deliver innovative solutions that meet customer and business objectives.

As a Refinery Account Representative- El Segundo, CA, you will be responsible for:

  • Collecting samples and performing laboratory tests to generate data for monitoring application performance.

  • Building and maintaining long-term strategic relationships with customers by understanding their business objectives, operational challenges, and growth plans.

  • Managing assigned refinery customer accounts and serving as the primary point of contact for commercial and operational activities.

  • Identifying, developing, and executing sales opportunities that support business growth and customer value creation.

  • Collaborating with technical, operations, service, and commercial teams to deliver innovative solutions and project outcomes.

  • Managing the day-to-day operations of refinery chemical process business activities within assigned customer accounts.

  • Coordinating activities of technicians, account representatives, and supporting resources to ensure effective service delivery.

  • Developing, leading, and delivering business reviews, technical presentations, and performance updates for customers and internal stakeholders.

  • Monitoring account performance and identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, and business results.

  • Supporting the implementation and execution of account strategies to achieve sales, operational, and financial objectives.

  • Ensuring compliance with established Sales and Service Standards across key customer accounts.

  • Maintaining effective communication with customers and internal stakeholders to support timely issue resolution and business continuity.

  • Following Baker Hughes HSE requirements, ethical standards, and company policies while conducting all business activities.

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Have experience in account management, technical sales, refinery operations, chemical process industries, or related customer-facing roles.

  • Have strong knowledge of refinery operations, industrial processes, chemical treatment programs, or related energy industry applications.

  • Have demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships and establish credibility with key stakeholders.

  • Have experience identifying business opportunities and supporting commercial growth initiatives.

  • Have strong presentation and communication skills with the ability to effectively engage customers, leadership, and cross-functional teams.

  • Have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple functions and organizational levels.

  • Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to develop practical customer-focused solutions.

  • Have experience managing multiple priorities and delivering results in a fast-paced environment.

Work in a Way That Works for You

This role may require travel to customer sites, participation in customer meetings, support of operational activities, and flexibility to meet business and customer requirements.

Shift: Monday - Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Work Location: 100% Onsite | El Segundo, CA

The annual pay scale for this position is between $76,280.00 - $141,590.00.

Candidates for this role (office-based/ hybrid/ remote) must be located in or near the locations displayed above. The pay range/scale displayed above represents Baker Hughes’ good faith estimate of the minimum and maximum for this position at the time of this posting and applies to the possible locations for this position. Baker Hughes will issue a non-bias competitive offer; the salary range posted for this position reflects the projected hiring range for new hires, full-time salaries in some U.S. locations, not including equity or benefits. Where an applicant will ultimately fall within the pay range/scale depends on a variety of factors, including, for example, geographic work location, skillset, qualifications, internal pay alignment, level of experience, and demonstrated performance over time. Please keep in mind that the range stated above is the full base salary range for the role and does not include other forms of compensation. You will have a choice of coverage options that best suit your needs. Coverage options and contribution amounts are related to your benefit elections, base salary level, and specific requirements of each of these plans.

This position is eligible for our comprehensive and competitive benefits package, which can be found here, and is further eligible for additional forms of compensation such as bonuses subject to the terms of the applicable benefit plans or policies.
