Here is what former interns had to say about their experience:

"The most valuable part of my internship experience was the opportunity to contribute to significant projects across multiple departments, including legal and compliance, while gaining insight into their impact. Professionally, this legal internship has provided me with the insight in understanding the workflows, regulations, and compliance protocols that enable departments to thrive. It has also provided me with important legal experience that I have utilized to help me navigate, analyze, and propose solutions to legal-related inquiries. Personally, this program has helped me improve my communication skills when engaging with stakeholders, strengthened my ability to adapt to challenging projects, and taught me how to manage my time effectively, all while building my confidence! Origence is filled with extraordinary, kind, and thoughtful people who uplift each other. In addition to taking initiative, building relationships with the people around you will help you make the most out of the program!"

Kevin Groballi, Legal Intern, Summer 2025

"The most valuable part of my internship experience has been the incredible people I’ve met, both fellow interns and employees across the organization. This program has helped me build confidence in communicating effectively and managing projects in a professional setting. While I’ve gained a lot through my projects, what truly made my experience stand out was the work environment at Origence. I’ve had the chance to participate in activities like the CHOC Walk at Disney, Bring Your Kid to Work Day, and fun holiday events organized by the employee committee. These experiences created a welcoming and vibrant culture that made me feel connected and engaged. My advice for future interns is to take initiative: put yourself out there, connect with people in different departments, and embrace the opportunities to get involved. Those connections and experiences make the internship truly rewarding!"

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
