About the Role

We’re looking for a Recruiter & People Operations to help us build and support the team as favorited grows. This role will split time between recruiting and people operations, giving you the opportunity to both bring exceptional talent into the company and create the systems and experiences that help our employees thrive.

You’ll partner closely with hiring managers and leadership across the organization to understand hiring needs, source and close great candidates, and help build a strong recruiting process. At the same time, you’ll own day-to-day people operations and help establish the processes, programs, and infrastructure needed to support a growing startup.

This is a hands-on role for someone who is highly organized, resourceful, people-oriented, and comfortable operating without a lot of existing structure.

Responsibilities

Recruiting

  • Own recruiting processes from intake through offer, partnering closely with hiring managers across the organization.

  • Source, identify, interview, and engage high-quality candidates across engineering, product, design, marketing, operations, and other functions.

  • Build strong candidate pipelines through proactive sourcing, networking, and creative recruiting strategies.

  • Develop a deep understanding of favorited’s culture, roles, and technical and creative needs to effectively represent the company to candidates.

  • Manage candidate communication and ensure a high-quality candidate experience throughout the hiring process.

  • Partner with leadership on hiring plans, priorities, and recruiting strategy.

  • Help build and continuously improve recruiting processes, tools, interview structures, and candidate evaluation.

People Operations

  • Own day-to-day people operations and employee lifecycle processes, including onboarding, offboarding, employee changes, and internal documentation.

  • Build scalable processes and systems that support employees as the company grows.

  • Maintain accurate employee records and people-related systems.

  • Partner with leadership on employee engagement, team health, and company culture initiatives.

  • Support benefits administration and serve as a resource for employees on people-related questions.

  • Help develop and maintain company policies, processes, and internal resources.

  • Coordinate with external HR, payroll, benefits, legal, and other people-related partners as needed.

  • Identify opportunities to improve the employee experience and proactively implement solutions.

What We’re Looking For
  • 3 - 8 years of experience in recruiting, people operations, HR, or a combination of these functions.

  • Experience recruiting for consumer-focused technology companies, ideally startups.

  • Strong recruiting experience across technical and/or product-oriented roles.

  • Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and keep processes moving in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to build trust with candidates, employees, and leadership.

  • Highly proactive and comfortable taking ownership of problems without waiting for direction.

  • Ability to operate with discretion and sound judgment when handling confidential employee and candidate information.

  • Experience building or improving people processes in an environment where systems and infrastructure are still evolving.

  • Passion for gaming, consumer products, social media, or livestreaming and an understanding of the communities that surround them.

What Stands Out
  • You’ve worked at a startup or high-growth consumer technology company.

  • You’ve recruited for engineering, product, design, or other specialized roles.

  • You understand the gaming, livestreaming, creator, or social media ecosystem and know how to identify great talent within those communities.

  • You’ve built recruiting or people operations processes from the ground up.

  • You’re equally comfortable talking to a candidate, partnering with an executive, and digging into an operational problem.

  • You’re someone who sees a broken process and immediately thinks, “I can fix that.”

  • You have strong instincts for company culture and understand how to help build an environment where high-performing people want to work.

Salary & Benefits

Compensation: $120k - $160k base salary + equity

Benefits Include:

  • Unlimited PTO to prioritize work-life balance.

  • 401(k) plan to invest in your future.

  • Comprehensive health insurance to support your well-being.

  • Paid company holidays to recharge.

  • Competitive salary that values your expertise and contributions.

Where You’ll Work: This is a full-time, on-site position in Santa Monica. Core in-office working hours are Tuesday through Thursday, 10am - 4pm PT.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
