About Carda

Rehab is a pain. So much so that only 10% of qualifying heart patients attend, which results in complications for patients and at least $190B in excess costs. At Carda Health, we have reimagined the care model for heart and lung patients. Our program allows patients to complete engaging, compassionate, and life-saving therapy from home, virtually.

Who are we?

Carda is a team of clinicians, mathematicians, repeat entrepreneurs, and engineers. We believe that technology and data can transform individuals’ lives and fundamentally change even the most entrenched industries. Carda was founded by Harry and Andrew who share a family history of heart disease and personal experience with cardiac and pulmonary rehab.

Who are you?

You are tenacious, driven, and want to make an impact. You have a proven track record of delivering high quality financial analysis and reporting. You love digging into the weeds of financial operations, and ideally have experience with a healthcare company. At the same time you are able to see the bigger picture and prioritize work streams accordingly. It personally bothers you when you and the company are not hitting goals and you do everything you can to help change that. You are a great collaborator and communicator and bring a very positive attitude to work! You are able to complete tasks and implement processes in ⅓ of the time of a peer.

What will you do?

As RCM Manager, you will …

  • Be responsible for hitting the percentage paid targets set by the company.
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the revenue cycle, including billing, coding, claims submission, and collections.
  • Oversee the accuracy of patient billing information and ensure timely submission of claims to insurance providers.
  • Monitor accounts receivable, identify trends, and implement solutions to reduce denials and improve cash flow.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, billing guidelines, and coding standards.
  • Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to streamline processes and improve patient satisfaction.
  • Provide leadership and training to the revenue cycle team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

What we look for:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in revenue cycle management within the healthcare sector.
  • Strong knowledge of medical billing, coding, and healthcare reimbursement methodologies.
  • Proficiency in revenue cycle management software and electronic health record systems.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team in a remote work environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to maintain high performance under tight timelines and a “roll up your sleeves” mindset to get any job done
  • The ability to bring structure to ambiguous areas of opportunity and thrive in an unstructured, fast-moving environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A desire to further your career and an ambition to work on problems that actually matter.
  • A positive, never say die attitude!

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience working at a high-growth technology or financial services company
  • Experience with SQL or a willingness to learn
  • Experience in data visualization and dashboarding
  • Sage/Metabase or other equivalent application experience

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
