Description

Position Summary

The A&R Operations Coordinator supports the EVP, Content Operations & Partnerships in overseeing the administrative and operational flow of A&R projects. This role ensures that recording sessions, deliverables, and project documentation are executed smoothly and on schedule. While this position provides some crossover support to the A&R team, it is not a creative scouting role; instead, it focuses on process, organization, and execution. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and eager to gain experience at the intersection of music operations and A&R.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate logistics for recording sessions, mastering, and related project activities.
  • Track A&R deliverables, submissions, demos, and release timelines in databases and trackers.
  • Support project documentation, including contracts, invoices, clearances, and budgets in coordination with legal and finance teams.
  • Assist with the organization and delivery of final masters, label copy, and metadata to production.
  • Prepare decks, briefs, and meeting materials for the EVP and senior A&R leadership.
  • Coordinate listening sessions, showcases, and internal A&R-related events.
  • Communicate with artists, managers, producers, and internal teams to ensure timely information flow.
  • Maintain accurate record-keeping and confidentiality of all sensitive project information.
  • Provide administrative support to the EVP as needed (scheduling, expense reporting, travel logistics).

Requirements

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in A&R administration, content operations, or entertainment administration.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and project management tools (e.g., Asana, Motion, Trello).
  • Basic understanding of music industry structures (labels, publishing, management, PROs).
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, startup-like environment with shifting priorities.

Preferred Qualities

  • Passion for music and interest in the operational side of A&R.
  • Solutions-oriented with the ability to anticipate project needs.
  • Highly collaborative and comfortable working across multiple departments.
  • Professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment when handling confidential materials.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
