The Impact You’ll HaveAs a key member of our operations team, you’ll:
- Coordinate external studies with CROs, including contracts (MSA/SOWs), budget tracking, invoice reconciliation, and samples/material shipments.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to align deliverables and ensure timely, budget conscious execution of program goals
- Enable study sponsors in monitoring study progress, managing budgets, and ensuring timely data reporting and documentation
- Coordinate periodic operations’ risk assessments and help implement mitigation strategies.
- Strengthen the connection between Research, Drug Discovery and Development through process design and collaboration
- Champion best practices in program management, developing templates, dashboard, and tools to drive alignment and efficiency.
- Manage multiple projects across the portfolio with a focus on scalability and sustainability
- Serve as a key liaison with vendors and finance teams, supporting budgeting and FP&A activities
- Design and implement scalable operations processes to support company growth.
- Foster a culture of matrix collaboration and cross-functional teamwork through tools and thoughtful coordination
We’re seeking someone who brings a mix of operational savvy, scientific understanding, and a collaborative mindset:
- M.S. with 2+ years or B.S. with 4+ years of experience in operations or project management within a pharma/biotech environment.
- Experience in a fast-paced drug discovery settings; familiarity with INDs and regulatory milestones is a plus
- Proven ability to develop and implement project processes that enhance efficiency and collaboration
- Clear and effective communicator with the ability to work effectively across scientific and operational teams
- Proficiency with project management tools like JIRA, SmartSheets, or Asana.
- Detail-oriented and a proactive approach to identifying gaps and driving solutions
- Strong grasp of the drug discovery and development lifecycle and how each function contributes to broader research goals.

The expected annual salary range for employees located in the San Francisco Bay Area is $88,000 - $108,000. Additionally, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus. Maze performs position-based compensation benchmarking to industry market data to ensure we pay competitive wages. Determination of starting salary will depend upon a variety of job-related factors, which may include professional experience, skills, and job location. The expected salary range for this role may be modified in the future.
