The Queens VEX U Robotics Team (QVEX) is an award-winning competitive robotics team under the Engineering Society and Alma Mater Society. With over 80 inter-disciplinary members from engineering, commerce, and science, QVEX is the largest and most successful collegiate robotics team in Canada. The team was founded in 2019 to revolutionize engagement in robotics at Queen's, while also developing a globally recognized competitive program.

Job Description

The Director of Talent Development reports to the Administration Co-Captain and is responsible for onboarding the teams' new members, by facilitating teaching them the skills necessary to contribute to the team. They are also in charge of ensuring that knowledge is passed down from leaving members to newer members.

Key responsibilities include: 

  • Plan training sessions for new members
  • Be an open point of contact for new members to rely on
  • Help implement documentation for leaving members to keep their knowledge
  • Offer help with professional development of team members (Look over resumes, interview prep, etc.)

The Director of Talent Development can expect to gain skills in the areas of:

  • Project Management
  • Logistics
  • Documentation

Time commitment ranges from 5-10 hours a week
