Duties: Develop frameworks to extract data from various sources, apply relevant business rules, generate datasets for end user consumption, ensure cross-platform data consistency and perform gap analysis using various software technologies. Perform data exploration, analytics and data visualization using various tools. Responsible for all phases of the software development life cycle in support of the firm's initiatives including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, implementation, and support with emphasis on data models and business transformation strategies. Conduct regular meetings with Stakeholders and senior management to define and establish strategic goals and roadmaps. Define data models, metadata, and data dictionaries to enable data analysis and analytical explorations. Perform user acceptance testing and deliver demos to stakeholders by SQL queries or Python scripts. Proactively identify hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture. Advise junior engineers and technologists.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree in Quantitative Finance, Data Science, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or related field of study plus 5 years of experience in the job offered or as Quantitative Research, Quantitative Analyst, Risk Modeler, Statistical Modeler, or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor's degree in Quantitative Finance, Data Science, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or related field of study plus 7 years of experience in the job offered or as Quantitative Research, Quantitative Analyst, Risk Modeler, Statistical Modeler, or related occupation.
Skills Required: This position requires three (3) years of experience with the following: Python Programming using Pandas. This position requires two (2) years of experience with the following: Statistical modeling using scikit-learn; Using Statistical analysis to interpret data, identify trends, and draw conclusions. This position requires one (1) year of experience with the following: SQL using Windows functions and creating stored procedures; Utilizing Python and Excel for extracting and loading data from AWS, flat files, and Oracle database; Working with cloud and big data infrastructure platforms including AWS and Google Cloud; Leading development activities by conducting meetings with stakeholders and communicating timelines and blockers.
