Role Overview

We’re seeking a Quant Developer to help build and maintain our high-velocity crowdsourcing and algorithmic trading infrastructure. You’ll work alongside our Chief Scientific Officer and a senior developer, contributing to cutting-edge market-making initiatives and pushing the boundaries of decentralized AI-driven trading.

Key Responsibilities

Algorithmic Trading Development: Assist in building and managing high-performance feeds that support OTC trading, market making, and broader algorithmic strategies.

Community Collaboration: Work with our global community of thousands of quants, integrating their models into our trading pipelines.

Software Engineering: Develop in Python and (ideally) C++ or Rust. Contribute to open-source projects and uphold robust engineering standards.

Mathematical Modeling: Leverage a strong applied mathematics background to prototype, test, and optimize quantitative strategies.

Flexibility & Teamwork: Primarily on-site in Darien, with the option to work from the NYC office or partially remote. We value autonomy and understand life happens.

Qualifications

Proven Coding Skills: Demonstrated expertise in Python; familiarity with C++ or Rust is a strong plus.

Trading & Market-Making Experience: Previous exposure to OTC trading environments, high-speed or high-frequency trading is highly preferred.

Mathematical Rigor: Background in applied mathematics, computer science, quantitative finance, or related fields.

Open Source Mindset: Experience contributing to open-source projects—or a strong desire to do so—showcases teamwork, collaboration, and initiative.

Adaptability: Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment that blends finance, AI, and decentralized technology.

Why Join CrunchDAO

Web3 & AI Frontier: Join a company revolutionizing how trading strategies are created, evaluated, and deployed, standing at the crossroads of two high-growth sectors.

Community-Driven Innovation: Collaborate daily with a diverse global network of talented quants.

Real-World Impact: Our solutions are already in use by top financial institutions, giving you exposure to large-scale enterprise projects.

Growth & Fun: From revolutionizing algorithmic trading to enjoying beach access near our Darien office, there’s no shortage of adventure.

Strong Backing: Supported by premier venture capital firms in the web3 space, ensuring stability and ample resources to push boundaries.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
