Additionally, this role will support data analytics and serve as the system administrator for MasterControl, enabling visibility and optimization across key quality metrics. You’ll collaborate cross-functionally to drive continuous improvement and ensure product and process quality excellence.

This is a hybrid position based in Long Beach, CA, requiring days in-office and remote each week.

What you’ll do:

  • Investigate and resolve customer complaints, ensuring timely response, resolution, and quality improvements.

  • Conduct internal audits to assess compliance with ISO 13485:2016, MDSAP, and applicable regulatory requirements.

  • Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives across the QMS.

  • Maintain and report on key quality metrics (e.g., CAPA, NCMR, Customer Complaints, Deviations, and Change Control).

  • Build and maintain dashboards and reports to communicate quality performance and trends to leadership.

  • Serve as the system administrator for MasterControl, managing user roles, workflows, training records, and system updates.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to enhance QMS processes and system usability.

  • Participate in audit preparation and documentation efforts (internal and external).

  • Communicate system updates and issues effectively across quality and cross-functional teams.

  • Foster a culture of quality, compliance, and data-driven decision making.

  • Support additional quality functions and projects as assigned.

What you need to know:

Experience/Skills/Education:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Engineering, Life Sciences, or similar) or equivalent experience.

  • 0–2 years of experience in a regulated industry (Medical Device experience a plus).

  • Familiarity with ISO 13485, MDSAP, and other applicable regulatory frameworks (e.g., FDA QSR, UKCA).

  • Experience with quality system processes such as NCMR, CAPA, Complaint Handling, and Change Control.

  • Experience with MasterControl or similar EQMS platform.

  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Desired:

  • Proficiency in Power BI, Excel (pivot tables, formulas), and data visualization techniques.

  • Experience developing and maintaining dashboards for reporting quality KPIs.

  • Experience with data cleaning, DAX/Power Query, or other analytics tools.

  • Understanding of system administration functions in MasterControl (e.g., role management, template configuration, document lifecycle).

  • Familiarity with audit readiness practices and preparing supporting documentation.

  • Exposure to SQL or relational databases is a plus.

  • Passion for continuous improvement and enabling process efficiency through systems and data.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
