Figure is an AI Robotics company developing a general-purpose humanoid. Our humanoid is designed for commercial environments to help address labor shortages and perform tasks that are physically demanding, repetitive, or unsafe. We are based in Sunnyvale, CA and require 5 days/week in-office collaboration.
We are looking for a Quality Engineering Intern to support the development and implementation of quality processes as we scale robot production.
Responsibilities:
- Support the Quality Engineering team in developing quality documentation such as quality control plans and work instructions
- Assist with organizing and managing Material Review Board (MRB) processes
- Perform verification inspections and testing of components and assemblies
- Support the creation and review of First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR)
- Perform dimensional, visual, and functional inspections based on QC plans and work instructions
- Track and manage non-conformance reports (NCRs) and assist with follow-up actions
- Help maintain and organize quality documentation and resources
- Support incoming quality control (IQC) activities and supplier-related quality checks
Requirements:
- Currently pursuing a master’s degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, electrical engineering, manufacturing engineering, or a related engineering field
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and CAD models
- Good understanding of GD&T (geometric dimensioning and tolerancing)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Interest in manufacturing environments and robotics hardware
Bonus Qualifications:
- Experience in robotics, automotive, aerospace, or other high-tech manufacturing industries
- Understanding of manufacturing processes, quality systems, and industrial engineering principles
- Familiarity with inspection tools, metrology equipment, or quality analysis methods
The US hourly pay range for this position is $35–$50 per hour. The pay offered for this position may vary based on several individual factors, including job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package may also include additional components or benefits depending on the specific role
