Who We Are

SUBSCRIBE is an enterprise software solution providing electronic subscription document technology and an order management system for alternative product transactions.

Our technology allows allocators, sponsors, and service providers to digitize the entire onboarding, investment, and reporting process for alternative investments. Through our open-architecture platform, all stakeholders are easily connected to a central venue allowing for collaboration that reduces errors, saving time and money.

Our mission is to give our clients control and reduce friction for a very painful investment process using our platform.

The Role

SUBSCRIBE is a small but growing team – we are looking for a detailed-oriented QA engineer. As a new member, you will work closely with developers, product owners, and other QA members to ensure high-quality software releases. Your daily responsibilities may include:

Requirements

  • Perform manual testing of web applications (functional, regression, smoke, UI/UX).
  • Create, review, and execute well-written test cases.
  • Partner with software engineers and product managers to reproduce, debug, and resolve issues.
  • Log and verify defects in our bug tracker and drive them to resolution.
  • Document testing artifacts (test plans, checklists, release notes) for future reference.
  • Conduct manual API testing with Postman or similar tools.
  • Build automated tests, actively filling in gaps in our testing pyramid.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of hands-on manual testing experience for modern web applications.
  • Solid understanding of SDLC, STLC, and common QA methodologies (risk-based, exploratory, regression).
  • Ability to write clear test cases, test plans, and bug reports.
  • Familiarity with Asana, Jira, Linear, or other tracking systems.
  • Experience performing manual API testing using Postman, Swagger, or equivalent.
  • Comfortable with Chrome DevTools for troubleshooting and log capture.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills in an agile, cross-functional environment.
  • Experience with web test automation (Playwright, Cypress, Selenium).

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
