Job Description
We're looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Software Quality Engineer II to join our team at Sports Next, where you'll play a key role in ensuring the quality and reliability of GolfNow applications and subsystems through comprehensive test planning, design, execution, automations, and manual testing practices.
Job Responsibilities:
- Design and implement automated API test cases, validate responses, status codes, and data integrity
- Perform software quality assurance, including black box testing, white box testing, user acceptance testing, and maintenance regression testing
- Write and execute SQL queries to validate data integrity and perform backend validation
- Understand and script using standard scripting languages like Perl, Shell, JavaScript
- Evaluate testing and inspection plans for projects of varying technology, complexity, and size
- Develop and document test cases
- Detect, document, and track system defects throughout the SQA process
- Review log files and other run-time documentation for defects and issues
- Analyze the results of software tests and provide results for use in development code inspections and group reviews of project deliverables
- Collaborate with development and product teams to support and implement applications
Qualifications
- 4 + experience as a QA Engineer or related position in a collaborative, team-driven software engineering environment
- Manual testing experience
- Strong hands-on experience in API testing (e.g., using Postman, Swagger)
- Familiarity and/or programming experience with .NET and web-based technologies
- Excellent SQL and data skills
- Experience maintaining test environments, automated testing tools, and other resources in support of SQA process
- Team player with strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Familiarity and understanding of "Web 2.0 technologies" - e.g., JavaScript, AJAX, Web Video
- Ability to work under tight deadlines
- Ability to work outside of traditional hours, when needed
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Be curious about how things work and love breaking things
- Be passionate about technology trends and all things related to testing
- Be excited about automation and building tools to help do your job and help the rest of the team
