Perplexity AI is looking for an experienced Quality Engineer to join our small team revolutionizing the way people browse the Internet. You will be responsible for ensuring the high quality of Comet across Android and iOS.

You will work closely with the design, engineering, product, data and support teams. The ideal candidate should have strong communication and writing skills, an eagerness to learn, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and analyze the existing product as well as new features
  • Ensure a high craft and quality bar, both in the user experience and the developer experience.
  • Participate early in the design process and flag potential issues to designers.
  • Monitor both quantitative and qualitative sources of feedback for quality issues.
  • Work with product management and engineering to debug and resolve problems.
  • Work with infrastructure and QA teams on deployment processes, including testing, release, and monitoring.
  • Detect bugs and UI issues on a variety of devices
  • Develop, document, and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts
  • Detect performance problems by benchmarking against similar products

Requirements

  • 4+ years industry experience
  • Experience with Android and iOS
  • Diligent approach to testing and QA
  • Organization and communication skills
  • Understanding of AI products, including prompting
  • Ability to learn new software tools quickly
  • [Preferred] Experience with Browser QA
  • [Preferred] Experience with CI/CD systems
  • [Preferred] Experience managing QA vendors

Our cash compensation range for this role is $90,000 - $130,000. 

Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including, experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed above.
 
Equity: In addition to the base salary, equity may be part of the total compensation package.
