Job Summary & Responsibilities

The Regional QA/QC Manager is responsible for providing strategic leadership and acting as the technical subject matter expert to the Operations Leadership Team in all matters related to Quality Assurance / Quality Control and regulatory code compliance throughout the region. 

Together with BWCC’s Operations Leadership Team; the Regional QA/QC Manager will be chartered with strengthening our QA/QC culture and enhancing predictability of performance throughout the territory.  The candidate will work to identify and assess projects, and implement Company QA/QC Policies, Procedures and Management Systems to maintain regulatory compliance and reduce the impact of quality related incidents and losses.  This position is responsible for the development of quality solutions, talent acquisition, and improving technical capabilities within B&W’s U.S Construction Operations in the Western Operations.  Supporting all projects (large & small) throughout the Western Operations including selecting, placing and managing hourly QA/QC supervision on applicable active projects.

Qualifications - External

  • Administers the framework of B&W’s Global Quality Management Systems and the implementation of BWCC’s Policies and Procedures which provide the tools necessary to ensure predictable, repeatable and “Best in Class” performance.
  • Participates in the development, implementation, and monitoring of adherence to QA/QC policies and procedures.
  • Facilitates Quality Leadership across the region & self – audit / inspections on a quarterly basis.
  • Lead all quality related incident investigation and root cause analysis including Site Problem Reports, Corrective Action Plans, Non Conformance in accordance with B&W Policy, Code and/or regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in field QA/QC talent acquisition and professional development strategies.
  • Provide Quality Management System, ASME (Section 1 and VIII) and NBIC training and coaching to operational leaders, field personnel to ensure technical competence and development within the territory and during project execution.
  • Lead / monitor and communicate performance management metrics weekly / monthly / quarterly focused on analyzing and communicating both leading and lagging indicators trends.
  • Participate in bid / customer specification review and assessments associated with projects performance.
  • Provide technical oversight and development of Site Specific Quality Plans including but not limited to the development of Welding Data Sheets and Weld Schedules.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of B&W, Customer and Regulatory requirements throughout the territory.
  • Conduct Quality Assurance audits, tracking corrective actions and trends within an internal database in accordance with B&W policy.
  • Facilitates quality assurance assessments, inspection, turn over packages and long-term records retention in accordance with B&W, NBIC, Jurisdiction and regulatory requirements.
  • Act as onsite Quality Person on both small and large projects throughout the territory and region, on an as needed basis.
  • Share technical oversight and development responsibilities for quality related continuous improvement focus topics and Quality Alerts to promote best practices and operating experiences while effectively communicating expectations, reviewing trends across the territory. 
  • Manage QA/QC tool and equipment inventories, calibration and required training throughout the region.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
