Mind Computing is seeking a QA/Automation Engineer to support the Department of Veterans Affairs. Our client is modernizing a critical business application. Activities include application migration, application sustainment, refactoring, all performed according to agile principles. You will work in a fast-paced SAFe Agile environment and participate in the full system lifecycle—analysis, planning, development, implementation, testing, documentation, and operations.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate, recommend, and implement automated test tools and strategies.
- Design, build, and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks for web, API, and backend services.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to ensure rapid, reliable releases.
- Write and execute system test cases, track results, and provide detailed progress reports using JIRA for test management, defect tracking, and sprint planning.
- Analyze defects, identify root causes, and collaborate with developers to ensure timely resolution.
- Configure hardware, operating systems, and environments to support automated testing.
- Contribute to risk assessments and provide subject-matter expertise on testing best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 3+ years of software testing experience with at least 2 years in test automation.
- Proficiency in automation frameworks and tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, JUnit, TestNG).
- Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and version control (Git).
- Hands-on experience using JIRA for defect tracking, test case management, and Agile workflow.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum or SAFe methodologies.
Additional Qualifications
- Ability to obtain a government clearance.
- Experience with the Department of Veterans Affairs or other federal agencies.
