The QA Analyst will collaborate with developers and product managers, create test plans, conduct manual and automated testing, maintain quality standards, and advocate for user experience while ensuring accessibility compliance.
At Livefront, we help companies design and build world-class digital products that command attention and inspire joy. We’ve helped household names like Target, Samsung, General Mills, and Optum create experiences that have reached millions of people, and startups like HomeSpotter and Credly build entirely new businesses that challenge their industries’ status quo.
We’re looking for an outstanding QA Analyst to join our team.
Who you are
You’re a curious, proactive quality engineer with a fluent command of what people expect from digital products that look, feel, flow, and function flawlessly. You thrive equally across manual and automated testing techniques, but high attention to detail is your constant. You have a nose for bugs and pride yourself on your uncanny ability to discover, isolate, and resolve them. You have strong software judgment and are comfortable assessing impact and making recommendations to collaborators and stakeholders based on test results, acceptance criteria, and identified risks. You have deep empathy for users and a passion for making their experiences as smooth and seamless as possible. Above all, you’re a self-starter who thrives with autonomy and can work effectively with little oversight.
What you will be doing
- Collaborate closely with developers, designers, and product managers to understand product requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Create detailed test plans and test cases covering web and mobile platforms, blending manual and automated testing approaches - exercising judgement to select the right testing strategy for a given scenario or interaction.
- Regularly execute manual and automated test plans covering functionality, usability, performance, and compatibility - while documenting and reporting on findings.
- Author clear, concise, and actionable bug reports with detailed steps and impact assessments to stakeholders based on test findings.
- Support an ongoing product release process by conducting regression testing to ensure software stability and prevent the introduction of new defects from product iterations.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest testing tools, techniques, and best practices, and serve as a thought partner and influencer to incorporate them into the QA practice at Livefront
- Advocate for user-centric design and functionality by ensuring the end-user experience is thoroughly tested and meets high-quality standards.
- Perform accessibility testing according to WCAG and internal Livefront accessibility guidelines, ensuring applications perform well across a wide range of users and adhere to accessibility standards.
Why you should apply
- You want to work with passionate and talented people who are always looking for ways to make things better.
- You desire a work environment where respect, mutual trust, and egoless collaboration are paramount.
- You want colleagues who take their work seriously but not themselves, and who know how to let loose and have a good time.
- You like being part of a team that has a reputation for excellence and gives back to the community by educating, mentoring, and sponsoring.
- You want to work on products and accounts that have an outsized impact and reach.
- You believe in sweating the details, giving a damn about quality, and taking pride in going the extra mile.
What you bring to the table
- At least 3-5 years of relevant QA experience, ideally in a consulting environment or as part of an in-house, cross-functional product team.
- Experience creating and implementing testing strategies and plans for consumer-facing web and mobile applications, including both manual and automated testing.
- Strong instincts for discovering software defects and a clear aptitude for learning new technologies.
- Deep experience with modern software development best practices, tools, and workflows.
- Hands-on experience designing, developing, and maintaining automated testing suites for mobile applications using frameworks like Appium, Espresso, or XCUITest; or for web applications using frameworks like Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress.
- Hands-on experience with HTTP debugging proxy tools (e.g., Charles Proxy, Proxyman) for inspecting and troubleshooting network traffic.
- Proven experience with accessibility testing and a strong understanding of WCAG guidelines.
- Knowledge of the latest testing tools, methodologies, and industry best practices.
- A passion for ensuring a high-quality user experience and advocating for user-centered design principles.
- Excellent communication skills and a consultative disposition.
- Above-average discipline and personal organization skills.
- A demonstrated hunger for personal and professional growth.
- A self-evident love and care for the craft of software development and testing.
Bonus points if you...
- Have experience with programming in languages and frameworks such as JavaScript / TypeScript, Java, Python, Swift, Kotlin, and/or C#.
- Have experience with API testing automation using tools like Postman
- Have experience working with WebdriverIO
- Have experience testing AI-powered applications or developing test strategies for digital products with non-deterministic responses or outputs.
- Have an understanding of CI/CD pipelines, experience with integrating automated testing tools into them.
- Speak, write, and/or educate publicly about technical and/or testing topics.
