Position Summary

About the Role
SciPlay is looking for a detail-obsessed and driven QA Analyst to help uphold the highest standards of quality and reliability on its flagship mobile franchise, Jackpot Party Casino, based in our Cedar Falls, Iowa studio.

This is a fully on-site position. No remote, distance Hybrid, or alternate work arrangements will be considered.

This is a demanding role where curiosity, precision, and a strong sense of ownership are essential. You’ll be responsible for developing and executing tests on new features, tools, and game content to ensure they meet exacting standards—especially around high-impact, revenue-sensitive areas.
This position requires the ability to cut through complexity and ambiguity, identify risks quickly, and bring clarity to fast-moving, often chaotic scenarios. Those who succeed in this role are not just testers—they are investigators, problem-solvers, and stewards of product integrity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure all software is functioning as intended with an exceptional level of detail and accuracy

  • Create, maintain, and execute test plans and test cases across new and existing game content, tools, and platforms

  • Document and track issues using bug tracking software (e.g., JIRA) from discovery through resolution

  • Collaborate with developers, designers, artists, and product managers to identify potential quality risks early

  • Reproduce and isolate complex issues to support engineering resolution efforts

  • Generate clear and concise QA documentation, reports, and feedback summaries

  • Identify gaps in test coverage and proactively suggest process improvements

  • Own the quality of your assigned areas—functionality, usability, and player experience

What We're Looking For
Required Experience:

  • 2+ years of professional experience in software or game testing

  • High attention to detail and accountability in fast-paced, high-stakes environments

  • Demonstrated ability to stay organized, adaptable, and clear-headed during shifting priorities or deadlines

Preferred Experience:

  • Familiarity with bug tracking and test management tools (JIRA, Xray, TestRail, etc.)

  • Experience with mobile or web-based games or apps

  • Experience in environments where mistakes have serious business consequences

  • Understanding of software development and QA methodologies

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Familiarity with risk assessment and test prioritization

This Role Is a Strong Fit If You:

  • Thrive in high-pressure, high-precision environments

  • Treat QA not just as verification, but as craftsmanship

  • Are endlessly curious and willing to dig until you understand how something truly works

  • Can spot the needle in the haystack—and know why it matters

  • Take full ownership of your work and always seek to improve

  • Understand that thinking is the most important part behind executing

Mistakes in this role can have real financial impact—which is why we’re looking for someone who treats quality as non-negotiable. If you're ready to take ownership, embrace complexity, and help safeguard the player experience, this may be the role for you.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
