POSITION DESCRIPTION

Q2 Holodeck™ Sales Executive

Join a talented founding team and help put an AI-enabled defense training platform into the hands of the people protecting our communities and critical infrastructure.

Position Summary

Elessar is hiring two ambitious Sales Executives to help bring Q2 Holodeck™ to government, defense, public-safety, sports, critical-infrastructure, and commercial customers. This is a hands-on sales role for someone who wants more than a narrow territory and a scripted pitch. You will learn a new and sophisticated product, build relationships with  buyers, create opportunities, support live demonstrations, shape pilots, and help close the company’s first generation of customers.

You will join a small, talented team of technologists, operators, trainers, and business builders. Success will be visible. Your work will directly influence Elessar’s revenue, customer strategy, product roadmap, and growth. The role is designed for a high-energy early-career seller who is coachable, persistent, organized, comfortable opening doors, and excited by the opportunity to grow with an emerging defense technology company.

About Elessar and Q2 Holodeck™

Elessar is a defense technology company commercializing Q2 Holodeck™, a browser-based, AI/ML-driven, scenario-based training and decision-rehearsal platform. Q2 Holodeck™ helps security, force-protection, and first-responder personnel identify a drone, select a lawful and effective response, and report the incident before a real event occurs. The platform is built to support practical readiness across defense, homeland security, law enforcement, critical infrastructure, and allied markets.

Our immediate commercial objective is straightforward: identify customers with urgent operational problems, demonstrate the platform, launch well-designed pilots, prove value, and convert successful pilots into annual subscriptions and larger deployments. The Sales Executive will be at the center of that effort.

What Makes This Opportunity Different

·       You will sell a differentiated product addressing a timely challenge in c-UAS preparedness that is ubiquitous and also engage in national-security and public-safety challenges.

·       You will work directly with senior leaders, technical experts, operators, and customers rather than being buried in a large sales organization.

·       You will have room to build a network, shape the sales playbook, and earn responsibility quickly.

·       Your compensation has meaningful upside: reaching the individual $1.5 million Year 1 sales goal produces target cash earnings of $135,000.

·       You will be part of the team building Elessar from early commercialization into a scalable recurring-revenue company.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (approximate % of time)

·       Prospecting and Opportunity Creation (30%). Build and maintain a disciplined list of named accounts; research buyers and funded entry points; conduct outbound outreach; use events, referrals, partners, and digital channels to secure qualified meetings.

·       Customer Engagement and Discovery (20%). Lead early conversations, uncover operational problems, identify buying authority and funding, qualify timing and fit, and translate customer priorities into a clear next step.

·       Demonstrations, Pilots, and Proposals (20%). Coordinate with technical and training teammates to prepare compelling demonstrations; help define pilot users, scenarios, success measures, pricing, conversion terms, and proposal content.

·       Pipeline and Sales Execution (15%). Maintain accurate CRM records, next actions, close dates, probability, and forecast; follow up consistently; advance opportunities through a defined sales process; and surface blockers early.

·       Closing and Expansion (10%). Help negotiate and close qualifying sales, then work with customer success to position renewals, additional seats, new scenarios, and enterprise expansion.

·       Market Learning and Team Contribution (5%). Share customer insight, competitive information, objections, and product feedback; improve messaging and sales tools; and contribute energy, ideas, and accountability to the founding team.

Compensation and Growth

·       Base salary. $60,000 annually.

·       Commission. 5% of qualifying Q2 Holodeck™ sales, governed by a written company commission plan that defines crediting, payment timing, adjustments, and treatment of shared or team-supported opportunities.

·       Year 1 sales goal. $1.5 million in qualifying individual sales.

·       Target cash earnings. $135,000 at the Year 1 goal, consisting of $60,000 in base salary and $75,000 in commission. Actual earnings depend on qualifying sales and the terms of the commission plan.

·       Career growth. Strong performers may earn larger accounts, greater market responsibility, leadership opportunities, and increased influence over the company’s go-to-market model as Elessar grows.

Working Conditions

·       Travel. Approximately 20-30% for demonstrations, customer meetings, exercises, and industry events.

·       Remote work. This is a remote role requiring dependable availability, disciplined communication, and proactive coordination with a distributed team.

·       Security and confidentiality. Employment is contingent on appropriate background review and execution of confidentiality, intellectual-property, and company policy documents.

·       Performance environment. This is an accountable, goal-oriented role in an early-stage company. Priorities may change as customer evidence, funding, and market opportunities develop.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
