Boeing Global Services (BGS) is looking for a Q/R Inspector P143-RC to join our team in Huntington Beach, CA. This occupation requires the inspection of machined parts, forgings, castings, tooling details, and precision measuring tools. Also requires the inspection of assemblies, subassemblies , fabricated or prefabricated component parts of assemblies, installations during assembly, and mating surf aces or operations including observation of operational checkout, and testing on major assemblies of complex electro-mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, or mechanical systems or related support equipment.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Work from blueprints, specifications, preliminary or completed test procedures, and schematics. Verify or observe complete operational inspection or checkout of entire mechanical, electromechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, or mechanical systems or related support equipment. Check for compliance to company standards of workmanship and presence of all required final records and data sheets.
  • Check layouts made from blueprints and sketches, which establish locations and dimensions. Check installations and precision mating or fitting based on these layouts.Work from directives, blueprints, specifications, and inspection procedures. Inspect work for acceptable quality, completeness, proper function, and adherence to engineering specifications.Check for presence and completeness of required records and data sheets.Order rejections or rework.
  • Setup parts on surface plate using gauge blocks, parallels, clamps and 11V11 blocks to place part in desirable position for taking readings with precision measuring instruments. Check machinesetupandapprovefirstcorrectpartpriortoproductionrun.Setup optical comparator, gear involute and similar equipment. Inspect machined parts involving compound angles, compound and reverse contours, coordinated precision tolerance dimensions and having surfaces requiring three or more plane coordination.
  • Take precision measurements to check dimensions, hole patterns, trim lines, parallelism, and other specifications. Inspect tooling details and shop fabricated machine tools for dimensions, workmanship p, adherence to tool design, engineering prints, shop practice and procedures, and inspection standards; layout first run parts, forgings, or castings from blueprint by marking all location points and reference lines necessary to check tooling.
  • Conduct progressive and final acceptance inspections, including functional testing operations on completed subassemblies and assemblies. Inspect skinning, riveting, and welding operations on assemblies, material, or parts. Perform acceptance check on mechanical installations and any required functional and/or pressure checking. May include minor electrical installations and operations incidental to mechanical assemblies.
  • Setup and operate test equipment to ascertain proper functioning. Collaborate with planning, engineering, or other inspection personnel relative to operational checkout inspection procedures, sequence of inspection and operational testing processes.
  • Make final company inspection acceptance by witnessing demonstrational check, conducting final operational checkout. Prepare inspection rejection tags and paperwork required for rework. Stamp or approve acceptable parts and complete paperwork as required. Prepare paperwork for rework or rejections, noting deviation from specifications on dimensions, finishes, material, or quality.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • 5+ years of experience inspecting machine, sheet metal and assembly metallic parts using engineering released requirements and specifications
  • 3+ years of experience programming and operating Coordinated Measurement Machine (CMM) using PC-DMIS software
  • Ability and willingness to work our 3/36 shift. Working Friday, Saturday & Sunday 12hrs each day.
