Sales Representative – Pulp and Paper – US South - Mobile, AL region

POSITION SUMMARY:

DuBois Chemicals is looking to hire a high-achieving sales professional to assume our Paper Chemicals US South sales territory with excellent upside growth potential.  Responsible for growing and maintaining our business in this region and must have a strong background in the paper industry.  A successful history of cold-calling, prospecting, and creating new business is highly desired.  Our customers include many of North America’s leading paper, packaging, and pulp products manufacturers.  An ideal sales representative is a self-starter who enjoys working in an entrepreneurial environment focused on solving customer problems. 

Responsible for promoting and selling the organization’s products, applications and services to specific customer account(s) to achieve revenue and margin targets and facilitating technical sales support.

All candidates must have five or more years of experience in the pulp and paper industry.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Develop new business by identifying customer needs and improvement opportunities.
  • Manage key accounts with growth opportunities.
  • Utilize DuBois’ unique line of paper specialty chemical solutions to win new customers.
  • Work in a team-selling environment where sales representatives, service representatives, technical specialists, and R&D scientists work together to meet customers' productivity, sustainability, and safety goals.
  • Effectively communicate customer needs and requirements to all company functional areas to ensure that team-selling efforts are coordinated.
  • Maintain a strong on-site customer presence in the customer manufacturing sites.
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodations.

MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Five or more years of experience in the pulp and paper industry.
  • A bachelor’s degree in paper engineering, chemical engineering, or similar is preferred.
  • A background in sales to the pulp and paper industry is preferred.
  • Ability to build and manage long-term business relationships.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective customer consultation, negotiation, and problem resolution.
  • Ability to learn the DuBois technologies and utilize that knowledge to fulfill customer needs.
  • Strong computer skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and the ability to learn other business management tools.
  • Experience or ability to learn lab test procedures to validate product performance.
  • Ability to travel daily, with up to 50% overnight travel.
