Job Description SummaryThe Pull Transformation Leader is tied directly to GE Aerospace’s Hoshin Kanri within Integrated Manufacturing. This critical position is expected to drive continuous improvement in the Supply Chain by enabling strategic breakthrough results in Safety, Delivery, Cash and Cost performance.
This role is primarily focused on activating Hoshin Kanri strategic improvement priorities pertaining the Production System and the FLIGHT DECK operating model to achieve the future state objectives for the company.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities:

Foster a culture of Lean, leading by example

  • STRATEGY:  Assist in developing the strategic roadmap and playbook across Materials, Sourcing and Part Families to enable scaling of the Connected Flow future state to achieve breakthrough SQDC objectives.
  • PROCESS:  Experiment and standardize processes to achieve the future state objectives for Sites and Central Functional teams.
  • PEOPLE: Train and communicate with impacted roles and stakeholders in a clear and concise manner. Escalate within Supply Chain Obeya and Operating cadences for decision-making and progress communication.
  • DATA:  Work with Central and Site Functional stakeholders to incubate, develop and implement Connected Flow digital solutions in partnership with the Digital Technology team.

In the Focus Transforming Sites

  • With Materials Leaders (Black roles): Coaches the Site Materials Leader in Daily Management and Decentralized Materials roles leadership. Influences the development of strategy for Sites related to Planning Logistics, Inventory and Storage of procured and manufactured materials. 
  • With Customer Planners (Blue roles): Experiment, validate and implement future state Site Production, Capacity and Resource Planning processes while executing Heijunka and internal pull processes.
  • With Supply Planners (Red roles):  Experiment, validate and implement future state Site Supply Planning processes in partnership with Sourcing, Materials, Part Families and Fulfillment teams.
  • With Material Handling Leaders (Green roles):  Experiment, validate and implement future state Site Material Handling processes in partnership with Central and Site Industrial Engineering and Logistics organizations.

Minimum Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in leading supply chain and materials teams driving lean culture and operational transformation leading or as part of customer planning, supply planning and / or material handling functions.
  • Remote position; must be willing to travel 50%.

Desired Characteristics and Experience 

  • At least 8 years of experience in leading supply chain and materials teams driving lean culture and operational transformation.
  • Capable of coaching a Lean Mindset within Manufacturing and/or Transactional areas.
  • Practitioner of Key FLIGHT DECK fundamentals:  Standard Work, Daily and Visual Management, Value Stream Management, Problem Solving and Action Planning.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of materials management practices using lean tools and methodology especially flow and pull.
  • Humble: Respectful, receptive, agile, eager to learn.
  • Transparent: Shares critical information, speaks with candor, contributes constructively.
  • Focused: delivers results through leading others, quick learner, strategically prioritizes work, committed.
  • Problem solver: analytical-minded, challenges existing processes, critical thinker
  • Proven to be effective driving outcomes in large, matrixed organizations – understands how to navigate geographies, cultures, relationships, etc. Can drive work around the world because they are accountable, trustworthy, credible, committed, and intellectually agile.
  • Change agent, able to make the case for FLIGHT DECK and demonstrate immediate impact.
  • Highly collaborative person, comfortable with conflict and debate normally associated with change.
  • Ability to solicit interest and champion unique approaches / original solutions and formulate those ideas into transactional strategy.
  • Ability to present ideas effectively and concisely, both written and verbal, to all levels of the organization both internally and externally.
  • Strategic and critical thinker with the ability to influence others without authority, even those with conflicting priorities balancing thought leadership / and read across with strong results-orientation.
  • Proven ability to work horizontally across GE Aerospace and build / maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Skilled communicator capable of influencing a wide audience via a balanced and humble approach.
  • Willingness and ability to coach and mentor others
