About the role

The Publicity Coordinator, Streaming Content (SVOD) & Awards will work with the PR and Communications teams to amplify Crunchyroll's presence in the streaming, anime, and larger entertainment industry, focusing on SVOD and awards. Reporting to our Director of Publicity, Streaming Content & Awards, you will help develop and execute strategic publicity campaigns that promote Crunchyroll's content offerings and achievements in the industry.

As a member of the team, you will assist the team in multiple ways, from reporting to asset management to writing to event support and more. You will be an important part of contributing to the strategy for high-impact publicity initiatives. We are looking for a blend of creativity, strategic thinking, and operational efficiency to enhance Crunchyroll's brand and content within the anime and entertainment communities.

  • You will help create and share press materials, including press releases, media alerts, and pitch documents for streaming content and awards
  • You will oversee weekly news reporting functions, ensuring accurate and timely updates for all partners alongside appropriate "day one" and "campaign" reporting needs
  • You will contribute to the strategy and execution of publicity campaigns for SVOD content and events, working with new and main outlets.
  • You will support, manage, and help maintain the team's press list and future PR database, ensuring comprehensive media and journalists across relevant media verticals.
  • You will support the submission process for content awards and manage the awards calendar.
  • You will support systems and processes to accurately share important visuals and artwork as promotional videos and footage.
  • You will help with strategic communications planning, including presentations and internal communications.
  • You will field incoming press inquiries and coordinate responses in a timely manner.
  • You will staff events, conventions, and press junkets, being a point of contact for SVOD-related activities.

This contract position is based in our Culver City office, and offers a hybrid work schedule.

About You

We get excited about candidates, like you, because...

  • Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Public Relations, English, or a related field
  • 0-2 years of experience in media relations within entertainment or streaming content, or at least one entertainment internship
  • You know your way around Google Workspace and Microsoft 365
  • You have a passion or curiosity for anime, fandom communities, pop culture, and/or current entertainment trends
  • You run multiple work streams simultaneously
  • You have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • You have a service-driven, and can-do and will-do approach, responding to pressure while maintaining a calm presence
  • Your role could involve domestic travel

The Crunchyroll Communications team is comprised of passionate publicists and storytellers who connect fans to the anime content they love. Our focus spans across multiple touchpoints, including SVOD, theatrical releases, events, merchandise, and more, ensuring our narrative reaches a global audience through effective and engaging press activities.

The Pay Range for this position is listed. Actual pay will vary based on factors including, but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Crunchyroll’s Total Rewards offerings for employees. Other rewards may include performance bonuses, employer matched retirement savings, time-off programs, and progressive health benefits and perks.
