About AidKit

AidKit is a public benefit corporation building the infrastructure that enables governments and nonprofits to deliver cash assistance quickly and with dignity. Since its founding in 2021, AidKit has distributed more than $400 million to over 110,000 households across 27 states, establishing new standards for rapid, targeted aid during disasters, economic shocks, and major policy transitions.

Our differentiator is speed without sacrifice. Where legacy systems take months to launch, AidKit can deploy complete aid programs in hours while maintaining rigorous fraud protection and compliance. Unlike most SaaS platforms, we build for the margins—designing systems that work for excluded workers, unhoused neighbors, low-income families, and communities facing compounding crises.

We're AI-native infrastructure for an unpredictable world. As natural disasters and economic shocks accelerate, communities need systems that adapt in real-time while preserving the inherent dignity of people in their times of need.

About the Role

AidKit is hiring a fully remote (US-based) Public Sector Partnerships (Sales) Director. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis, with priority consideration for applications received by February 28, 2026.

This role reports to the Chief Revenue Officer and focuses on new business development. The role is ideal for a proven sales leader who has built and managed high-performing teams in the government technology space. If you're someone who has consistently driven community impact and revenue growth while developing sales talent, this role might be for you.

Key Responsibilities

Expanding Government Partnerships:

  • Cultivate deep relationships with state and local governments; deepening AidKit’s position as a trusted technology partner for disaster relief and social safety net modernization

  • Navigate complex government procurement, leading RFP responses and proposal processes with expertise in government buying cycles and compliance requirements (supported by a seasoned Proposal and Capture Manager)

Building & Developing a High-Performing Team:

  • Recruit, coach, and retain top sales talent, building a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement

  • Empower Account Executives to prospect effectively, execute strategic account plans, and deliver meaningful results for government partners

  • Foster team performance through regular coaching, skill development, and creating an environment where team members thrive and grow

About You
  • You bring 5+ years of experience in public sector technology sales and transformation, with demonstrated success leading and managing sales teams to exceed revenue targets

  • You have established relationships across state and local government entities, including CIOs, procurement officials, agency heads, and program managers

  • You understand government procurement cycles, contract vehicles (NASPO, OMNIA, Carahsoft, etc.), and the complexities of multi-stakeholder decision-making environments

  • You excel at recruiting, coaching, and developing sales talent, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and goal attainment

  • You bring experience selling digital services, workflow automation, or SaaS platforms that modernize government operations and improve service delivery outcomes

  • You're equally comfortable coaching account executives as you are rolling up sleeves to close complex deals

  • You communicate with clarity and influence across all levels, from team members to C-suite executives and government partners

  • Most importantly, you care deeply about the mission of direct aid and supporting anyone who needs help, no matter where they come from

Not required, but bonus points if you have:

  • Experience in disaster relief, public benefits, cash assistance, or helping government serve vulnerable populations

  • Background in government, especially eligibility systems, or social services administration

  • Experience selling to large county workforce and human services agencies

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
