We are seeking an experienced Proposals and Contracts Manager to join our dynamic team. This role offers the opportunity to work at the intersection of business development, operations, and client management, playing a critical part in securing and delivering clinical research projects that advance healthcare worldwide.

As a Proposals and Contracts Manager, you will have overall accountability for the RFP process and contract development, working collaboratively across multiple functions to deliver high-quality proposals and negotiate contracts that meet both client needs and organizational objectives.

Key AccountabilitiesProposal Development
  • Overall accountability for the entire Request for Proposals (RFP) process from receipt to delivery

  • Analyze RFP documentation including study protocols and assign appropriate Subject Matter Experts (SMEs)

  • Facilitate proposal development by coordinating strategic and operational areas while ensuring adherence to the Decisions Right policy

  • Prepare and modify strategic proposals and budgets based on SME feedback and client requirements

  • Manage the RFP process, identifying potential barriers and implementing effective mitigation strategies

  • Obtain third-party quotes as needed and ensure alignment with RFP specifications and client communications

  • Maintain accurate documentation in appropriate systems for metrics and KPI tracking

Contract Development
  • Overall management responsibility for contract processes across specific or varied accounts

  • Coordinate with Operations, Project Management, Legal, Business Development, and Finance to prepare, review, and negotiate contracts

  • Develop account-specific contract standards including budget presentation, payment terms, and standard language

  • Create, negotiate, and finalize contracts in accordance with departmental SOPs and guidance

  • Amend project budgets in partnership with project and functional teams

  • Develop contract strategies and delivery plans with clear accountability and timelines

  • Proactively lead and facilitate client meetings to negotiate costs and terms

  • Identify and manage contractual issues requiring input from finance, tax, or other internal stakeholders

  • Ensure quality deliverables meet strict deadlines with proper rationale for cost changes

Skills and Experience required for the role:
  • University Degree in Life Science, Business, Languages, or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • 4-6 years of previous experience in contracting or proposals in a CRO or similar environment

  • Broad experience in proposals and contract management, including contractual terms, pricing structures, pricing tools, and data systems (e.g., Salesforce)

  • Strong understanding of clinical study conduct across different operational aspects and global regions - plus

  • Knowledge of managing client contract processes, accounts, and reporting

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with ability to multitask effectively

  • Comprehensive knowledge of cash flow and revenue recognition

  • Excellent attention to detail with outstanding oral and written communication skills
