Develop compelling, high-quality content that conveys the benefits of PCG's approach, and results in high scoring technical proposals. Must be creative and thoughtful in assessing the client's RFP requirements and developing a total content approach to each proposal section, including complementary graphics, highlight boxes, and flow diagrams that clearly convey our approach. Collaborate with SMEs, graphic designers, and other writers and complete proposal sections according to proposal schedule.

Proposal Writer Job Description

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develops accurate, compelling, and high-quality content for Business Development-related material and responses to Requests for Proposals (RFPs).

  • Leads projects as assigned under the guidance of the Proposal Manager and Senior Proposal Specialist.

  • Engages throughout the entire business development/proposal lifecycle to develop concise, compelling proposal content and win themes.

  • Works collaboratively with technical leads and proposal specialists to prepare winning proposals, qualifications, and submittals.

  • Reviews Government RFPs and Statements of Work (SOW) to help determine how to structure the response to be compliant, compelling, and highly rated by the client.

  • Responsible for writing/leading proposal sections such as executive summaries, conclusions, organizational credentials and other technical sections as assigned.

  • Researches and gathers complex information for use in proposal development activities.

  • Writing, revising, and editing drafts following proposal-writing standards related to readability, consistency, and tone; working to ensure all proposal requirements are met.

  • Suggesting, maintaining and developing proposal content as part of the proposal development process and for use in the Proposal Center’s content library.

  • Interviews appropriate Subject Matter Experts and researches, reads journals, reports, and other material to become familiar with PCG’s Health business and product lines.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills

  • Ability to develop original content that conveys complex thoughts in an easy to understand, compelling way

  • Ability to work with company stakeholders across functional competencies and management levels

  • Ability to review and correct material for content, style, and compliance with internal and external standards

  • Ability to convey concepts and processes in a clear and concise manner

  • Ability to work in highly collaborative environments or individually with limited resources

  • Proven ability to deliver high quality content on tight, customer-driven timelines

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Solid understanding of SLED RFP response process

  • Advanced Microsoft Word skills and ability to work with various software and technology

Qualifications   

Education: Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Writing, Marketing, Communications, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience: 5+ years of professional experience in the development, preparation, and production of proposals and qualifications packages for state and local government clients.

  • Experience writing large, complex proposals preferred.

  • Experience writing proposals in response to RFPs for disaster management, grant management, and sustainability consulting a plus.

Certification: APMP or PMP certified preferred.

Compensation:

Compensation for roles at Public Consulting Group varies depending on a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience.  As required by applicable law, PCG provides a reasonable range of compensation for this role. In addition, PCG provides a range of benefits for this role, including medical and dental care benefits, 401k, PTO, parental leave, bereavement leave.

$75,000 - $99,900
