The Promotions Manager develops and executes promotional campaigns across media to enhance brand awareness, manages content, and leads creative projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute compelling on-air, digital, and social media promotional campaigns that enhance brand awareness and viewer engagement.
- Work with the Creative Services Director to create and implement long-term branding and marketing strategies for CW39 Houston.
- Write, produce, and edit promotional spots, including news image campaigns, sales-driven marketing pieces, and community engagement initiatives.
- Conceptualize and create motion graphics, animations, and promotional materials that align with the station’s visual identity.
- Collaborate with News, Sales, and Creative Services teams to support branding efforts and maximize promotional impact.
- Manage promotional inventory using WideOrbit, ensuring strategic placement of promotional content.
- Assist in coordinating station photography for talent, staff, and marketing projects.
- Maintain design consistency across all promotional content while introducing fresh, innovative creative concepts.
- Interact with station leadership to offer creative solutions and project direction.
- Stay current with design, marketing, and audience engagement trends to enhance promotional effectiveness.
- Assist and help lead team with local in-market activations, focusing on experiential and grassroots approach.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Creative Services Director or General Manager.
Requirements & Skills:
- Degree in Marketing, Communications, Art & Design, Journalism, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Five to seven years of experience in promotional marketing, writing, producing, and editing for broadcast, digital, and social media.
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, After Effects, Premiere, and Illustrator.
- Strong background in motion graphics, typography, and animation for branding and promotional campaigns.
- Experience with photography and photo editing, including lighting techniques.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and project management skills.
- Experience with WideOrbit (for promotional inventory management) preferred.
- Familiarity with Ross Xpression, Chyron Prime, and Element 3D is a plus.
- Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed to meet promotional deadlines.
