Company Description

Overview
SPANX isn’t your average company. We revolutionized an industry by challenging the status quo and putting the customer first. You might know the story: our founder, Sara Blakely, who needed the right thing as a base layer to feel 100% in white pants, so she cut the legs off a pair of tights and Spanx was born. The spark of that origin is the fuel for our future. We grew up in shapewear. But we’ve graduated. For 25 years (yep, we're old enough to rent a car now), we've been experimenting, innovating, and occasionally banging our heads against the drawing board. And we will never stop obsessing about what women who are out there doing their thing deserve. Because we are those women. And we’re honored to create on behalf of us all.

We make elevated essentials with confidence built in. Essentials for layering underneath or wearing out loud, for “just-between-us” and “where'd you get that?” For everything you've got planned (and don't). Because what you put on can change how you show up. And if its' not working for you, it's got no place in your closet. Or on your body. Creating items that’ll make you feel great is a matter of the heart—and the lab. In every Spanx product is technology we design and build to highlight, complement, and form your look, just the way you like it. SPANX design and technology help make sure what you see in the mirror reflects that feeling of feeling your best (you know the feeling?). We are a high-growth, innovative and ambitious company and we are embarking on an exciting trajectory of both digital and international expansion.

About the role

We’re looking for a highly organized, proactive, and resourceful Project & Operations Manager to join our fast-moving Digital team. This hybrid role blends operational support with hands-on project management. You’ll report into the Senior Program Manager and collaborate across Product, Engineering, IT and Design teams to drive execution on small-to-mid-sized digital initiatives.

You’ll also serve as a key partner to the VP of Digital Product & Digital Transformation, managing their calendar, coordinating meetings, and helping keep strategic priorities moving forward. This role calls for someone who thrives in ambiguity, has a bias for action, and brings a calm, collaborative approach to working in a dynamic, Agile environment. If you’re energized by building processes, solving problems, and working cross-functionally to get things done—we want to meet you.

This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in shaping the digital experience of one of the world’s most beloved brands—and have a lot of fun doing it.

Job Description

  • Lead day-to-day project management for small and medium-sized digital initiatives
  • Work hands-on in tools like JIRA and Confluence to build multi-track project plans, track tickets, manage sprints
  • Prepare clear status updates, meeting recaps, and timelines / key milestones
  • Partner with product managers, engineers, IT and designers to keep deliverables on track and timelines realistic, flagging risks and creating change management plans along the way to ensure stakeholders stay aligned and informed

  • Manage and optimize the calendar for the VP of Digital, including meeting prep, prioritization, and coordination across stakeholders
  • Complete light admin tasks such as expense reports, vendor submissions, purchase requests, and invoice payment confirmations
  • Collect and analyze project metrics to identify trends, surface inefficiencies, and help implement process improvements and best practices
  • Bring an energy of collaboration, curiosity, and continuous improvement to every room you’re in

Qualifications

We require…

  • 5+ years of project management and operations experience, ideally in a digital or eCommerce environment
  • Proven experience managing small to mid-size projects across Product, Engineering, IT and Design teams with cross-functional stakeholders

  • Proven ability to work through ambiguity, adapt quickly, and keep momentum going in loosely defined situations
  • Demonstrated ability to create and manage timelines, priorities, and stakeholder expectations
  • Confident communicator with a track record of clear status reporting, surfacing risks early, and facilitating alignment across teams
  • Strong attention to detail and technicalities with excellent organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in basic administrative tools (e.g., Coupa, GSuite, MS Office)

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
