Job Summary

The Project Manager (PM) is responsible for the end-to-end delivery of SitelogIQ’s Commercial Markets distributed generation (DG) solar photovoltaic (PV) and energy storage system (ESS) projects ranging from $1M to $10M. This role oversees all phases of project execution—from early-stage development support and contract negotiation through engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and closeout.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical knowledge of renewable energy systems with proven project and contract management expertise to ensure projects are delivered safely on time, within budget, and in compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will bring strong organizational and leadership skills, combined with a passion for sustainable, high-performance building solutions.

The salary range is $100,000-$130,000. The salary may vary within the range based on factors such as location of the role, and a candidate’s experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Job Responsibilities

Project Management (Full Lifecycle)

  • Review project estimates and preliminary designs to establish time frame/schedule, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project, and allotment of available resources to various phases of project
  • Lead projects from concept, development handoff, and notice-to-proceed (NTP) through construction, commissioning, and closeout
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and execution plans
  • Coordinate several contracts of varying sizes while maintaining customer expectations and working effectively and efficiently
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams including engineering, procurement, construction, interconnection, and commissioning
  • Manage project risks, issues, and change orders proactively
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, permits, and utility requirements
  • Provide regular reporting on cost, schedule, safety, and performance metrics

      General

      • Collaborate with internal and external project stakeholders to outline work plan and to assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority
      • Coordinate activities of project to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget
      • Review status reports prepared by project personnel and coordinate schedules or plans as required
      • Coordinate with project personnel to provide technical advice and to resolve problems

      Contract Management

      • Lead contract review, negotiation support, and execution for:
      • EPC agreements
      • Subcontracts and vendor agreements
      • Equipment supply contracts
      • Administer contracts to ensure compliance with terms, conditions, and deliverables
      • Manage change orders, claims, and dispute resolution
      • Track contractual milestones, payment schedules, and liquidated damages exposure
      • Interface with legal, finance, and executive stakeholders on contractual matters

      Construction & Execution Oversight

      • Establish safety plans and goals
      • Oversee EPC contractors and subcontractors during construction
      • Ensure adherence to safety standards, quality control, and project specifications
      • Conduct site visits and progress reviews as needed
      • Manage commissioning activities and turnover to operations

      Financial & Commercial Management

      • Develop and manage project budgets and forecasts
      • Track project costs, cash flow, and profitability
      • Approve invoices and manage pay applications
      • Support financial reporting and project closeout documentation

      Stakeholder Coordination

      • Serve as the primary liaison for Sales Team, Project Engineer, Customers, Internal and External Resources, and Management regarding project related items
      • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, utilities, AHJs, and internal stakeholders
      • Coordinate with development teams on project transition and risk alignment
      • Facilitate communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders
      • Coordinate and document quotes and proposals with vendors. Procure equipment for projects and work with vendors and subcontractors to coordinate timely deliveries of equipment.
      • Obtain, review, and approve subcontractor scopes of work and quotes. Work with internal team members to have contracts written and executed.

      Requirements and Qualifications

      • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field or equivalent experience
      • 5–8+ years of project management experience in: Solar PV, energy storage, or distributed generation projects
      • Proven experience managing projects in the $2M–$20M range
      • Strong understanding of: EPC project delivery, contract structures and risk allocation
      • Construction processes and project controls
      • Experience with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, Smartsheet, Procore etc. or similar)
      • Safety-minded; familiarity with OSHA and general industry safety requirements, OSHA 30 Certification strongly preferred
      • Ability to read plans and specs
      • Familiarity with rules, regulations, best practices and performance standards
      • Ability to work with multiple discipline projects
      • Time management and organization skills
      • Customer focused mentality
      • Ability to fulfill many roles as needed for the growth of the company
      • Strong written and oral communication skills
      • Proficient and using MS Office Suite of products, including MS Project and Excel, as well as Web based and smartphone applications

      • Self-Starter and capable of working remotely with minimal management in a flexible and changing work environment

        Requirements and Qualifications Preferred

        • Experience with battery energy storage systems (BESS)
        • Familiarity with utility interconnection processes and permitting
        • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification
        • NABCEP Certification(s) or P.E.
        • Knowledge of NEC, NFPA, and relevant energy codes and standards       

        Work Environment and Physical Requirements

        Combination of office-based and field/site work. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, phone, and keyboard. May regularly need to lift up to 40 lbs., unassisted. Regularly travel will be required for site supervision and completion of job duties.  Will work under a variety of conditions and in various settings, depending on the type of job and client, including evenings and weekends. Able to climb ladders and stairs, comfortably lift 40+ pounds, and must be able to work on your feet for extended periods of time. Comply with and wear required Protective Personal Equipment (PPE). Travel to project sites as required (typically 10–30%)
