We are currently hiring a dedicated construction Project Manager to support MEPF scopes of work in an active operational environment. This position is based on-site at LAX airport in Los Angeles, CA and is responsible for managing the scope, schedule, and operational interfaces of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection (MEPF) and specialty systems design and construction activities within an assigned Terminal Development and Improvement Program project. Additionally, this role will assist with the development and implementation of design coordination, installation, and turnover plans, while proactively managing risk associated with MEPF systems to existing facilities.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Serve as primary technical liaison for MEPF systems.
Manage MEPF design scope and ensure alignment with operational requirements.
Lead procurement and technical evaluation of consultants, contractors, and vendors.
Oversee installation, testing, startup, and commissioning activities.
Develop and manage budgets, schedules, and resource plans.
Coordinate with stakeholders to minimize operational disruptions.
Identify and resolve technical, constructability, and integration challenges.
Conduct field investigations and infrastructure assessments.
Maintain documentation for design criteria, submittals, testing, and commissioning records.
Review and respond to RFIs, submittals, and technical change proposals.
Oversight Responsibilities:
Mechanical and electrical codes
Fire and life safety systems
Energy and sustainability standards
Airport operational requirements
Coordinate system shutdowns, tie-ins, and phasing plans
Evaluate contractor performance and approve pay applications
Prepare technical progress and readiness reports
Closeout Responsibilities:
As-built documentation
O&M manuals
Training coordination
Warranty tracking
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in architecture, aviation, business, engineering, construction management, planning, or other related technical field required. Master's degree preferred.
Ten (10) years or more experience managing MEP systems design and construction.
Experience with large-scale infrastructure projects (airport experience preferred).
Prior experience coordinating of MEPF and controls systems.
Prior experience supporting commissioning and system turnover.
Knowledge of MS Office Suite, Bluebeam, Building Automation Systems (BAS), electrical power monitoring systems, HVAC and control interfaces, fire alarm and life safety systems, and Revit/BIM coordination tools.
Experience with various delivery methods, including design-bid-build, CMAR, and design-build.
Optional certifications may include AAAE, LEED, PE, PMP, CCM, AICP, etc. or any other relevant professional license or certification.

The salary range for this full-time role is $120,200.00-$160,266.69 per year. Ranges are determined based on the position, geography, client and industry experience and level, and represent a good faith effort to provide a fair and equitable salary. This range reflects base salary only, and not the total compensation package. Cumming Group reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range, depending on a candidate’s experience, skills, and qualifications, including client requirements.
