Location: This is a hybrid position-- candidates must be within commutable distance to our Los Angeles or San Francisco offices.

Salary: $75,000- $87,000 per year, exempt

Organization Overview

Founded in 2004, Brilliant Corners provides innovative housing and housing-related services to California's most vulnerable individuals, with an emphasis on those transitioning from, or at risk of, homelessness or institutionalization. We develop, own, and manage multi-family supportive housing and licensed residential care homes. We implement a broad array of scattered-site, one-on-one supportive housing, and clinical case management programs through partnerships with developmental services, homeless services, veterans' services, and health care sectors.

Position Summary

Project Manager is responsible for the successful planning, execution and completion of various projects critical to our individual business lines and organization-wide operations. They will be responsible for project leadership within the Data and Technology Department, including but not limited to, internal software deployments and integrations, software and database enhancements, process automation, and application development. To be successful in this position, candidates will bring project management experience, meticulous organization and attention to detail, and polished, proactive, and persuasive communication skills. Preferred candidates will be entrepreneurial, self-starters who problem solve with creativity and curiosity.

Position Responsibilities

  • Simultaneously manage multiple projects typically ranging from 1-8 months in duration, some or all of which may be high visibility within and outside of the organization
  • Collaborate with business units to understand processes, pain points, and goals to generate project requirements that align with business needs
  • Create and maintain clear project management tools, documentation, and protocols
  • Oversee and coordinate the work of contracted professional services providers, such as application developers and SaaS providers
  • Define project scope and timeline in collaboration with project stakeholders and Product Manager
  • Maintain updated project plans for all current assignments
  • Consistently and comprehensively communicate with project stakeholders to ensure shared understanding of critical dates, deliverables, and project progress
  • Actively manage and clearly communicate expectations of deliverables and timeline
  • Proactively manage and escalate risks throughout the project lifecycle
  • Maintain process and documentation for tracking and approving changes to project scope, deliverables, and/or timeline
  • Facilitate project meetings or working groups as needed, including but not limited to kick-off meetings, check-ins, milestone meetings, and brainstorm sessions.
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Professional Experience

  • Two or more years of experience in a project management role
  • Experience with Salesforce and Power BI
  • Non-profit human services experience
  • PMI or comparable certification

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Excellent project management fundamentals, with a track record of successfully executing high-visibility projects on time and on budget
  • Practical experience with Waterfall and Agile project management approaches; PMI certification is desirable, but not required
  • Meticulous organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Design thinker who consistently delivers results that delight project stakeholders
  • Familiarity with cloud-based project management software tools
  • Experience designing software, UIX, or processes to enhance user experience and align with business needs
  • Excellent people skills, specifically a capacity for collaboration and interpersonal relationships
  • Expert problem solving, prioritization, and decision-making capabilities
  • Skilled juggler, with the ability to manage and meet multiple competing deadlines
  • Clear and effective communicator both orally and in writing; presentation experience preferred.

Physical Requirements

Candidates should have physical mobility for tasks such as standing, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, twisting, and walking on uneven surfaces. They should be capable of performing stationary tasks like sitting for up to 6 to 8 hours a day. Additionally, candidates should be able to lift, carry, push, pull light to moderate weights up to 15 pounds safely. Requires mental acuity for analytical reasoning and document interpretation.
