The Role

The Project Manager represents Commonwealth in all interaction with the assigned client from the initial effort, throughout the entire project agreement period, and, additionally, as the client requires. The Project Manager is the assigned liaison to communicate project/client status with Commonwealth's Executive Sponsor. The Project Manager also manages the internal project team.

What You’ll Do

  • Oversees proposal preparation. Defines scope, schedule and budget for assigned project.
  • Maintains understanding of project financials - MSA, changes in scope, billing process.
  • Monitors performance of project against client requirements and communicates changes to client.
  • Reviews and approves invoices related to the assigned client or project.
  • Participate in marketing-related presentations to the assigned client.
  • Build relationships with key client staff and understand the overall client organization.
  • Understands entirety of project - Master Services Agreement, project fee arrangements, scope and budget. Constant monitoring of these items throughout the life of the project.
  • Initiates project kick-off meetings to communicate project plan and schedules intermittent meeting, as the project requires.
  • Establishes goals for each project, aligned with client requirements.
  • Determines staffing requirements based on workload. Works with department supervisors/managers to select mutually agreed upon project team.
  • Implements Commonwealth's project management principles.
  • Conducts "lessons learned" meeting based on the findings.

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience in a Project Management role
  • Strong experience in utility and consultant industry
  • At least 5 years of experience using project planning tools
