Job Summary & Responsibilities

Job Summary:

The Project Manager oversees implementing the overall project plan for construction activities, delivering the projects within budget and at pre-determined cost level. This individual will work closely with the client providing status updates on timelines as well as budgeted costs and will be responsible for all documentation for change orders. The PM will most likely be working on multiple projects for the commercial retail client.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create and execute project work plans, including tracking and reporting resource availability, and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
  • Identify resources needed and assign individual responsibilities. 
  • Establish clear project roles and responsibilities.
  • Coordinate the overall planning for communication, project risk, change management and training.
  • Facilitate team and client meetings effectively.
  • Resolve and/or escalate issues in a timely fashion.
  • Communicate effectively with project teams to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions.
  • Gather and review construction documents.
  • Working with other Project Managers during bidding, negotiation, and post bid process.
  • Visit job sites to monitor production / quality assurance.
  • Review the work progress on daily basis.
  • Prepare internal and external reports pertaining to job status.
  • Plan ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones.
  • Negotiate terms of agreements, draft contracts and obtain permits and licenses.
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned.

Desired Skills, Certifications, and Education:

  • New product development experience required.
  • PMP certification a plus.
  • Experience working with and effectively leading cross functional teams essential.
  • MS Project expertise, as well as strong Word, Excel and Power Point skills required.
  • Proven ability to deliver high-quality projects on tight schedules.
  • Strong and effective decision making skills.
  • Bachelor's Degree, preferred. 
  • Be an honest team player, growth-oriented, ability to do whatever it takes; safely!

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Regularly required to sit, stand, and walk; occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds; noise level is usually moderate.
  • All employees may be required to visit a customer site and/or complete a ride along with a field technician as part of their employment.
