A Day in the Life and the Impact You’ll Make:
As a Project Manager – Strategic Consulting at DEKRA, you'll serve as the central point of coordination for multiple client-facing engagements that help organizations improve safety, performance, and operational excellence. You will play a key role on each engagement’s leadership team. You will translate project objectives into clear plans, facilitate discussions that remove roadblocks, monitor scope, schedule, and budget, and ensure deliverables meet DEKRA's high standards of quality. Along the way, you'll collaborate closely with consultants, subject matter experts, and client leaders, providing clear communication and actionable insights that help keep projects on track and clients successful.
What You’ll Do:
- Contribute to a safe and healthy work environment by actively participating, taking responsibility, and following established procedures and policies.
- Project manage multiple client engagements simultaneously
- Translate signed proposals into actionable work breakdown structures
- Lead project kickoff meetings in collaboration with project leadership
- Build detailed project plans and dashboards to keep internal and client stakeholders aligned and informed
- Identify and manage risks to ensure engagements stay on track and within budget
- Lead strategic project reviews with top levels of client leadership
- Facilitate project cadences that drive execution and accountability across project teams
- Present program insights, impact metrics, and strategic recommendations to clients and internal leadership.
- Collaborate on internal initiatives to build out new PMO capabilities, processes, and tools
- Ensure all deliverables meet DEKRA’s quality standards and exceed client expectations
- Be proactive in managing your projects and demonstrate a continuous learner mindset
- Collaborate with executive sponsors and sales to identify commercial opportunities and manage scope changes
What You’ll Bring:
- Education:
- Bachelors degree in business administration or related field preferred
- Experience:
- 3-5 years of project management experience required, including managing multiple concurrent projects (PM experience in client-facing, professional services engagements strongly preferred)
- Demonstrated ability to independently drive multiple projects to successful completion with minimal oversight, while maintaining high levels of client satisfaction
- Proven track record of managing both internal and client stakeholders, including developing relationships, managing expectations, and navigating through organizational challenges
- Demonstrated ability to influence and apply structured problem-solving to project challenges
- Experience using one or more project management applications (MS Project, Smartsheet, Planview, etc.) required
- Experience establishing project governance, decision-making processes, and stakeholder accountability frameworks
- Management consulting experience preferred
- Familiarity with organizational change and transformation initiatives preferred
- Knowledge of workplace safety principles and experience working with clients in industrial or high-risk industries (e.g., oil & gas, manufacturing, pulp & paper, mining, chemicals, utilities) preferred.
- Certifications/Licenses:
- Project management certifications (e.g., PMP) preferred
- System and/or technical requirements:
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience in project management applications
- Experienced leveraging AI-enabled tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot)
- Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Project management (including scope, schedule, and budget)
- Resource coordination

Physical Considerations:
- Must be able to work in a variety of client locations, environments, and conditions. This may include climbing stairs, walking long distances, walking on rough and uneven terrain, walking through client work facilities, working in heat/cold conditions, indoors and outdoors.
- Ability to lift 25-50lbs (luggage)
- Ability to handle extended periods of computer-based work
- Ability to work flexible and long hours, as needed

- Domestic travel required, estimated up to 25-50%

What You’ll Receive for the Value You Bring:
Compensation:
The base pay range for this position is $120,000 annually to $160,000 annually. This position is designated as bonus-eligible, subject to plan terms and conditions. Actual pay is based on several factors including market location and position-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
