The Opportunity 

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is seeking a dynamic and experienced Project Manager to join the Information Technology (IT) department in a remote/teleworking capacity. Reporting to the Executive Director of Projects and Administration, this position plays a critical role in the design, planning, and execution of innovative technology initiatives that support the University’s strategic goals.

The Project Manager is responsible for leading cross-functional project teams, managing scope, schedules, risks, and ensuring alignment with broader program objectives. A strong understanding of project management methodologies—such as Waterfall and Agile—and the ability to apply the most effective approach for each project is essential. This role also requires the ability to assess complex project-related challenges and develop creative solutions that consider financial, technical, and organizational factors.

Qualifications

Required Education and Qualifications: 

Bachelor's degree

  • Area of Concentration: Computer Science or Project Management related

Required skills, knowledge, abilities:

  • Strong analytical skills with deep knowledge of information systems and technical proficiency in Microsoft technologies, including Windows OS, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and Internet-based applications
  • Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), or other recognized project management certifications preferred
  • Demonstrated planning abilities and experience leading teams in a multi-project environment
  • Proven skills in leadership, negotiation, problem-solving, risk analysis, and project management methodologies
  • Strong team-building capabilities and ability to foster collaboration across diverse groups
  • Excellent customer service skills with a commitment to user satisfaction
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to engage users at all levels to understand and resolve issues while maintaining a positive, professional demeanor
  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills, including experience using project management tools and techniques
  • In-depth understanding of how computing technologies support administrative and academic systems
  • Working knowledge of network technologies and their relevance to shared systems architecture
