As a Mechanical Development Team Project Leader in the Optical Modules Group, you'll engage in the design and development of cutting-edge opto-electronic devices for next-generation high-speed network and communication products. Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a high-performing engineering product development team to deliver innovative mechanical designs aligned with cost, schedule, and performance goals.

  • Develop comprehensive project plans and schedules, ensuring seamless coordination of activities across multiple disciplines and teams, both internally and externally.

  • Facilitate and lead regular team meetings, setting clear agendas, tracking action items, and documenting outcomes to maintain project momentum.

  • Conduct thorough technical reviews, providing insights for FMEAs, design analyses, risk assessments, and qualification plans to drive product quality and reliability.

  • Collaborate closely with suppliers on design for manufacturability (DFM) reviews, root cause corrective actions (RCCA), and procurement processes to resolve part issues effectively.

  • Assess resource needs and project priorities, providing key inputs for headcount, budget, and scheduling requirements to optimize team efficiency.

  • Prepare and present detailed project status reports and summaries to upper management and cross-functional teams, showcasing progress and strategic alignment.

  • Thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, leading the development of cutting-edge technologies that shape the future of connectivity.

Qualifications

Must-Have:

  • MS in Mechanical Engineering required

  • 5-10 years of mechanical design and/or product development experience

  • Proven project management and/or project leadership experience

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Nice-To-Have:

  • Experience in design using 3D CAD and solid modeling tools

  • Knowledge of FEA and fundamental understanding of thermo-mechanical and structural analysis

  • Familiarity with optical design and/or electronic device packaging

  • Knowledge of statistical analysis

  • Experience with Agile methodologies preferred
