a well-established general contractor specializing in multifamily housing across California, is seeking a Project Engineer to join their team onsite in Palm Springs, CA. This role offers hands-on exposure to both field and project management operations, making it an excellent opportunity for someone looking to grow into a Project Manager position while contributing to a high-impact multifamily build.
What You'll Do as the Project Engineer:
- Maintain and organize project documentation including drawings, contracts, and specifications
- Manage RFIs, submittals, and change orders to ensure timely processing and resolution
- Track and update logs for project documentation and changes
- Support the Superintendent and field team with subcontractor coordination and daily activities
- Participate in site walks to monitor progress and proactively identify issues
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, and subcontractors to resolve field challenges
- Attend project meetings, capture notes, and track follow-up items
- Assist in monitoring project schedules, budgets, and overall execution
Must-Haves as the Project Engineer:
- 3-6+ years of construction experience, ideally in multifamily or similar large-scale projects
- Working knowledge of RFIs, submittals, and change order processes
- Experience supporting ground-up construction projects
- Proficiency with Procore and Microsoft Office tools
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
Nice-to-Haves as the Project Engineer:
- Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field
- Experience working on multifamily housing developments
- Exposure to both field and office-based project coordination
