Job Description:

Ryan Companies US, Inc has an immediate opportunity for a Project Engineer to join our team in San Diego! In this entry-level construction role, you will support the project team in completing a designated project while actively learning Ryan's processes, procedures, and business policies. You will gain hands-on experience in both field and office operations while working on a construction site.

To be successful in this role, you should have approximately one to two years of experience; specifically knowledge of estimating techniques, cost control, and material pricing. A bachelor's degree in a construction-related field is required. You must be able to perform mathematical calculations, understand architectural and engineering drawings, purchase orders, contracts, and cost-coding systems. You also must be able to assume responsibility, interface & communicate effectively.

Some things you can expect to do:

  • Help generate Requests For Information (RFIs) and track approvals.

  • Monitor and maintain shop drawing log and shop drawing coordination.

  • Learn project dimensional control requirements while field verifying dimensions to back check the shop drawing approval process.

  • Assist in the coordination and tracking of Vendor and Subcontractor deliveries.

  • Learn Ryan Safety Policies and Procedures.

  • Gain an understanding for overall site logistics.

  • Participate in and gain an understanding of the city and jurisdictional permit inspection process.

  • Keep office and jobsite plans updated with RFIs and ASIs.

  • Accompany Ryan personnel (and Owner) on Punchlist inspections, record Punchlist items and monitor completion of Punchlist work.

  • Perform additional assignments per Superintendent’s/Project Manager’s direction.

  • Participate in preparing and updating the project schedule.

You will really stand out if you have a/an:

  • 4-year college degree, preferably in a construction-related field.

  • General knowledge of estimating techniques, cost control and material pricing.

  • Ability to calculate mathematical calculations, understand architectural and engineering drawings, purchase orders, contracts, and cost-coding systems.

  • Ability to assume responsibility, interface and communicate effectively.

Additional requirements/information:

  • Willingness to travel, and/or relocate, as needed to execute projects.

  • Minimum six-month jobsite experience before progressing to Project Management Path.

Eligibility:

  • Positions require verification of employment eligibility to work in the U.S.

Compensation:

The base pay range is $75,000 to $107,000/Annually. The salary may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities.
