Job Description: As a Project Engineer, you will play a critical role in managing and overseeing various construction projects for an educational facility construction bond program. You will work closely with our construction management team, architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure the successful execution of multiple construction projects simultaneously. This is a dynamic and challenging role that offers excellent opportunities for career growth and professional development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with architects and contractors to develop project plans and schedules.
- Oversee the day-to-day construction activities, ensuring they adhere to the project specifications and timeline.
- Monitor project progress, identify and address any issues or obstacles, and propose solutions to keep projects on track.
- Manage project budgets, track expenses, and report on financial performance.
- Review and approve project designs and changes, ensuring they meet quality and safety standards.
- Coordinate and communicate effectively with various stakeholders, including contractors, inspectors, and school district staff.
- Assist in the preparation of project documentation, reports, and presentations for internal and external purposes.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and safety guidelines.
- Participate in regular project meetings and provide status updates to senior management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) certification preferred but not required.
- At least 3 years of DSA project experience.
- Proven experience in project engineering or construction management, preferably in educational or public construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and safety standards.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team and lead by example.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality and safety.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
