We are seeking a Project Controls Manager to support a major healthcare capital program in the Sacramento area. This role will work closely with client leadership and project teams to provide comprehensive project controls services across a complex portfolio of capital projects, including cost and schedule management, capital planning, forecasting, risk management, project governance, and reporting. The ideal candidate will bring strong construction project controls experience, excellent analytical and communication skills, and the ability to leverage project data and technology to provide actionable insights and drive successful project outcomes. This is a hybrid opportunity with a combination of remote work, client meetings, and site visits as needed.

  • ​Perform Project Controls Services service offering including but not limited to capital planning, portfolio and project governance, front end planning, project funding, project set up, construction technology, procure to pay, project, cost & commercial managing, schedule control, risk management, project close-out.
  • Participate in the delivery of Client's Portfolios, Programs & projects.
  • Support development of client's capital plan, budgets and associated updates ​by providing cashflow and accrual information.
  • Facilitate funding process by consolidating information from various sources into a holistic funding request document.
  • Work closely with clients to effectively integrate client systems and/or help set up project systems and coding and communicate the requirements to those providing inputs. Provide workflows
  • Enable effective governance by providing, timely, periodic, relevant fact-based information including provision of reports.
  • Assist in the smooth operation of the construction technology with a particular focus on ensuring the flow of information to enable efficient execution and control.
  • Participate in the development of project sourcing strategies and ensure the effective set up of the procure to pay structure.
  • Report, forecast and predictively influence the outcomes of the projects.
  • Review and analyze schedule development and progression to proactively influence the outcome of the project.
  • Identify, quantify, monitor and partner to develop risk mitigation plans.
  • Ensure the effective closure of projects including the completion of all financial related activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Attendance at work during normal business hours.
  • Develop and update Dashboards communications that capture existing client analytics and timely, periodic reporting of new updates in a client friendly format.
  • Fluent in Power BI Platform and ability to integrate with client PMIS  
  • Identify Risk factors, provide analytics for risk management and provide mitigation strategy.

  • Possess a working knowledge of Construction Industry tools, systems, and procedures. 
  • Demonstrate understanding of Project Controls fundamentals. 
  • Ability to read and interpret various documents such as Arch, Civil, Structural, MEP, Geotech, Site Logistics, and Schedules, estimates, bids contracts and other applicable documents
  • Ability to communicate with various stakeholders, internal and external to company
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work efficiently. 
  • Ability to perform at high levels in a fast paced, ever-changing work environment. 
  • Rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. 
  • Highly proficient in the use of Excel.
  • Utilize effective written and oral communication skills. 
  • Demonstrate fluency in typical construction industry project controls such as; Scheduling software, P6, MS Project, Cost Estimating software, Procore, Revue-Bluebeam.
     

Preferred Education and Experience:

Education: BS in Construction Management, Engineering, QS, Architecture, or related field is preferred.

Candidates with significant demonstrated experience in construction project controls or related field will be considered in lieu of degree

Experience: 4+ years' experience post receiving undergraduate degree working in related field.  

Candidates residing in the Sacramento area are preferred to support in-person meetings, site visits, and stakeholder coordination. A hybrid work arrangement is available, with a combination of remote work and on-site attendance as required by project and organizational needs.

The salary range for this full-time role is $102,300.00-$136,433.35 per year. Ranges are determined based on the position, geography, client and industry experience and level, and represent a good faith effort to provide a fair and equitable salary. This range reflects base salary only, and not the total compensation package. Cumming Group reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range, depending on a candidate’s experience, skills, and qualifications, including client requirements.
