The University of Southern California Imaging Genetics Center (http://igc.ini.usc.edu) - part of the USC Mark and Mary Stevens Institute for Neuroimaging and Informatics - in Marina del Rey, California is looking for a talented full-time Project Assistant. Duties will focus on analyzing existing brain images to investigate Alzheimer’s disease risk.

Candidate will have a bachelor’s in neuroscience, psychology, or a related field is preferred. Candidate should also be well-organized, careful, reliable, able to meet deadlines, ability to work both collaboratively and independently. Good knowledge of basic Micosoft Excel is required. A demonstrated ability to learn computer programming (e.g., passing a previous computer programming class) is also desirable, and some knowledge of MATLAB, python, or bash scripting is preferred. Some experience with MRI analysis and a working knowledge of FSL and Freesurfer (or similar software) would be a plus.

Major duties include quality control and data analysis of functional and structural brain images and data management and organization, and some simple computer programming to streamline image analyses. The Project Assistant hired will become familiar with relevant brain anatomy and scientific papers, and will learn how to process structural and functional MRI and PET data using major available and in-house neuroimaging analysis software. This position would be great for candidates who would like to gain training and experience for a few years before eventually applying to a PhD program.  

The hourly rate range for this position is $25.83 - $27.61 .
