Your Role 

As a Gensler  Project Architect, your job is to combine creativity and technical knowledge to help guide our clients. You have developed communication and team-building skills which have prepared you to manage projects. In this role, you will have opportunities to develop your existing strengths in design and technical coordination while also beginning to directly manage client relationships. 

What You Will Do 

  • Perform technical design assignments that include programming client needs, diagramming and modeling conceptual strategies, developing conceptual designs into technical studies, and construction documentation.

  • Engage coordination directly with clients or client stakeholders to assure approvals. Work directly with our design consultants, leading consultant coordination meetings, coordinating their systems with our design and reviewing their work progress.

  • Manage client, team and project coordination, including full documentation coordination with engineering and specialty consultants.

  • Support communication between project team, clients, vendors, contractors, consultants, and building and permitting officials.

  • Provide design support and documentation during completion and execution of design concepts.

  • Collaborate with external consultants, product representatives, furniture dealers, and fabricators. Lead coordination with building and planning departments to facilitate permit submissions, respond to plan check comments, and secure approvals.

  • Lead Construction Contract Administration services related to submittal reviews, RFI responses, site visits and field reports. Drive project progress through punch list walkthroughs, final inspections, and closeout documentation to support successful project delivery.

  • Oversee the bid process, including issuing bid sets, responding to RFIs, and evaluating contractor proposals in collaboration with clients.

  • Mentor junior staff through project work, technical guidance, and day-to-day support.

 
Your Qualifications 

  • Professional degree in Architecture, demonstrated with a rigorous portfolio 

  • Licensed Architect (CA state) required

  • 10-12 years of relevant architectural experience, with a strong background designing multiple building typologies of varying scale within hospitality practice 

  • LEED accreditation and experience preferred 

  • Revit experience required 

  • Outstanding knowledge of building codes, standards and building structures 

  • Proficient and confident in public-speaking, and in moderating large teams of consultants, contractors, and clients 

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills 

  • Ability to develop collaborative relationships across the firm, with clients, and with other key constituents

**The base salary will be estimated between $105,000 - $125,000 plus bonuses and benefits and contingent on relevant experience.
