The Project Accountant II monitors financial performance, manages invoicing and billing, oversees accounts receivable and payable, prepares reports, and ensures compliance with accounting standards.
We are partnering with a highly respected consulting firm that supports clients through complex planning and development projects. The team is seeking a Project Accountant II, who will play a key role within the Operations Department by overseeing project financials and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor project financial performance, tracking costs, revenue, and profitability.
- Prepare, analyze, and distribute project financial reports to management and project teams.
- Manage project invoicing and billing, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in accordance with contracts.
- Oversee accounts receivable and payable related to project activity, resolving discrepancies promptly.
- Support project closeouts and maintain accurate financial documentation.
- Ensure compliance with internal accounting policies and regulatory standards.
- Assist with internal and external audits as needed.
- Identify and recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications:
- 2–4 years of project accounting experience required.
- Experience with Deltek is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) and Adobe Acrobat.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities with minimal supervision.
