Opportunity Overview:

The Program Strategy & Execution Director plays a critical role in owning the success of key capabilities within Cohere’s platform. This role acts as the business owner for a solution area, responsible for defining strategic priorities, driving cross-functional execution, and ensuring the platform delivers measurable value for health plan clients.

You will operate at the intersection of Product, Engineering, Clinical Programs, Operations, and Customer Experience to bring new capabilities to market and continuously improve their performance. Success in this role requires strong business judgment, technical fluency, and the ability to translate strategy into scalable platform capabilities.

This is a generalist, high-impact role for someone who is equally comfortable working with engineers, clinicians, and product leaders and can distill complicated topics for executive consumption.  You can operate with ownership over both strategy and execution for a platform capability. You thrive in ambiguity, complexity, and fast-moving environments, but have an appetite to contribute in the development of long-term scalable processes.

What you’ll do:

  • Own end-to-end program delivery for customer accounts from contract signature through implementation, go-live, and ongoing success
  • Own the performance and success of a platform capability, including adoption, operational performance, and value delivered to clients.
  • Serve as the single-threaded owner for cross-functional execution across Product, Engineering, Solution Architecture, and Customer Experience
  • Lead the execution team, including delivery sequencing, dependencies, risks, and stakeholder and executive communication
  •
  • Partner with Product and Engineering to:
    • Translate customer and program needs into clear product and delivery priorities
    • Influence roadmap and backlog decisions tied to customer success and deployment milestones
  • Partner with Customer Experience to:
    • Incorporate client feedback and operational insights into platform improvements
    • Identify opportunities to increase adoption and value realization across the platform
    •
    • Drive large initiatives that contribute to the overall success of the customer
  • Work closely with clinical, rules, and automation teams to:
    • Drive configuration, rules, and AI automation strategy in support of customer goals and Cohere benchmarks
    • Track and manage solution KPIs, ensuring the platform delivers measurable clinical, operational, and financial value.
  • Run the program operating cadence (e.g., status, risk reviews, executive updates, milestone tracking, etc.)
Own long-term success planning for accounts, including:
    • Expansion initiatives
    • New product adoption

What you’ll need:

  • 10+ years of experience in program management, delivery, product management/operations, consulting, or implementation leadership in a healthcare, software, and/or technology-enabled services environment
  • Proven experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives and translating strategy into execution.
  • Strong technical aptitude—you don’t need to code, but you must be able to:
    • Work effectively with engineering and architecture teams
    • Understand systems, integrations, data flows, and configuration-driven platforms
  • Strong business and customer-facing skills, including:
    • Executive communication
    • Stakeholder management
    • Scope, timeline, and tradeoff management
  • Experience in healthcare, health plans, or regulated enterprise environments
  • Experience owning the performance or success of a product, platform capability, or strategic initiative.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
