NEW VENTURES
New Ventures is focused on developing new diabetes systems, products and solutions in an inorganic, accelerator environment. Our team is unique in that we can adapt to a variety of business, patient and marketplace needs that span the entire spectrum of our product portfolio today and in the future. Our mission drives the need to be a highly skilled, flexible, extremely efficient, versatile and agile team in medical device product development for the benefit of our patients with Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes in need of intensive insulin therapy.
PROGRAM MANAGER
The Program Manager is responsible driving strategy and execution of programs that deliver products for patients in need of emerging solutions to help manage their diabetes. Using broad cross-functional knowledge and comprehensive management skills, the program manager will provide leadership and direction to and collaborate with a cross-functional program development team including co-collaborators, outside partners and internal members with expertise from a wide variety of engineering and product development disciplines. Some of these team member disciplines including engineering (mechanical, electrical, firmware, software, manufacturing), operations, marketing, clinical regulatory affairs, quality and other key business functions. In addition, the program manager will generate a program plan based on input from the team which details a comprehensive plan for the program including scope, risks, work product, resources, interdependencies and schedule. As the leader of the program, the program manager will engage senior leadership and be the owner of the program performance.
- Plan and lead New Product Introduction and Sustaining programs from conception through commercialization
- Program Planning: Program charters, program plans, Resource (expense and FTE), key risks and mitigation strategy, program schedule, interdependencies, build planning based on product demand/supply chain logistics
- Program Execution:
- Leading the program team against plan
- Coaching and mentoring team members
- Effective risk management
- Tracking program schedule
- Creation, reconciliation and tracking of program budget
- Effective conflict resolution
- Communication with leaderships, management and team members including appropriate risk and escalation management
- Build a solid and high performing team with clear communication to leadership, extended team members, and enabling functions
- Engages team members to ensure effective team dynamics and mutual accountability.
- Bring and implement program management best practices within team. Influence positive change outside of Program Management team
- Provides regular updates and strategies for executive management review and decision making around program priorities, budget, timing, resources and assumptions, including impact on the customer, enterprise-wide resources, and revenues.
REQUIREMENTS

Required Education and years of experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Sciences with 5+ years program management experience or a Master’s degree with 3+ years program management experience
Desired qualifications
- Program management experience in the medical device domain
- Strong program management skills
- Project Management Certification, such as PMP
- MBA or Masters in Product Development/Innovation field
- Mastery and proficiency in product development and new product introduction, including clear understanding of the roles and responsibilities of cross-functional project teams and functional management
- Knowledge of Program Phase-In and Phase-Out Planning
- Ability to manage suppliers for complex assemblies
- Conceptual understanding of manufacturing engineering and operations validation efforts to lead (IQ/OQ/PQ)
- Familiar with contract manufacturer management
- Influence management skills; experience working collaboratively at all levels in matrix environment to build and maintain the positive relationships required to accomplish organizational goals
- Business acumen; ability to think and act from an overall “best for the business” perspective
- Results oriented, self-starter with a strong initiative and sense of urgency
- Enthusiasm and a desire to affect change
- Experience and demonstrated track record of leading within complex organizations requiring strong team leadership and influencing skills
- Excellent communication skills and interpersonal/team effectiveness - ability to succinctly and accurately communicate to various levels of management and employees.
- Effective decision-making skills - experience negotiating and balancing decisions and priorities across needs of several functional departments and willingness to make tough decisions. Makes timely decisions in the face of risk and uncertainty.
- Strong analytical, planning, organization and time management skills to effectively develop and execute comprehensive programs and budgets.
- Experience with MS Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, VISIO, Outlook, SharePoint, Jira, OneNote and other collaboration and workflow management tools

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$136,000.00 - $204,000.00
This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).
The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).
