Location: Moreno Valley, CA

Salary: $60,000-$70,000

Reports to: gBETA Managing Director

Description

Are you ready to find and work with the best and brightest entrepreneurs? Do you get excited about supporting startups so they can bring new innovations to life? Are you passionate about supporting a startup ecosystem in Moreno Valley? If so, this position is for you.

gener8tor runs accelerators and venture capital funds to catalyze community, mentorship, network, conviction and capital to bridge a community’s genius with opportunity. The gener8tor platform includes pre-accelerators, accelerators, corporate programming, conferences and fellowships. gener8tor operates venture capital funds and startup accelerators across 45 cities, 25 states and 3 countries, working with more than 300 startups per year. To date, gener8tor has worked with more than 1,800 startups that have cumulatively gone on to raise nearly $2.5B in follow-on capital and employ more than 13,000 people.

The Program Manager (PM) will lead the gBETA Inland Empire accelerator. The PM recruits and selects companies and executes programming tailored to researchers and entrepreneurs solving problems across all industries. The PM will coach startups, create networks and introductions for two accelerator programs per year of five companies each. Each program is seven weeks and will take place at the Moreno Valley Business and Employment Resource Center (BERC). Outside of the formal accelerator program, the PM will continue to work with accelerator alumni, recruit and hold office hours with startups and actively participate in the Inland Empire startup community, building relationships with stakeholders, mentors and investors.

As a member of the gener8tor team you will be an essential part of our overall international platform. The full gener8tor platform connects startup founders, musicians, researchers, artists, investors, universities and corporations and includes pre-accelerators, accelerators, corporate programming, conferences and fellowships. Your support as our gBETA Inland Empire PM will impact startups through working specifically with startup founders in collaboration with a network of partners, mentors and investors.

Success for the PM looks like owning all aspects of the program logistics and operations, including the operational elements of recruiting, interviewing and selecting the best and brightest founders, coordinating weekly program events such as startup meetings, cohort community-building events, mentor networking events and leading planning of the end-of-program showcase event. You will coordinate program logistics under the guidance of your manager, the program’s Managing Director, and will collaborate across the organization with gener8tor’s centralized support teams.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
