The Production Planner is responsible for preparing and releasing Work Orders (WO) per ERP demand, tracking WOs on the Shop floor and updating estimated shipment date to the internal team.
WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:
Create and release WOs per ERP Demand in line with Original Promise Date
Working with Engineering and Management to request release of PNs needed for planning purposes
Coordinate with operations to communicate future operational needs
Coordinate with purchasing to communicate future material needs outside of standard ERP Demand
Coordinate with customer service representative to determine possible expedites and to level load large orders
Update ERP system with current shipment dates for late orders
Update WOs as needed for remakes or reworks due to internal or external issues
YOU HAVE:
Experience planning and issuing WOs. (2+ years)
Must possess excellent computer skills (Word, Excel and SAP).
Knowledge of Engineering, Procurement and Construction business is an asset.
Proven analytic and problem solving skills.
Demonstrated skills in attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to recommend and present ideas and solutions to peers and manager.
Ability to multi-task and work independently.
Ability to build and maintain effective work relationships, both internal and external, and establish credibility with business partners.
Strong Customer Service skills and ability to communicate clearly and effectively to internal/external customers.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Our San Diego, CA facility is an ITAR controlled site. All candidates must be a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15.

Pay Transparency
nVent’s pay scale is based on the expected range of base pay for this job and the employee’s work location. Employee pay within this range will be based on a combination of factors including knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, education, and performance. Where federal, state, or local minimum wage requirements exist, employee pay will comply.
Compensation Range:
Depending on the position offered, employee may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as annual incentives.
