About the Role:

The Production Lead is in charge of our in-house manufacturing soapmaking process. This individual will be responsible for leading a team of 5-20 hourly operators to produce molds of soap. They are in charge of promoting safety, quality, and a positive work culture. The ideal Production Lead candidate has experience in and a passion for small-batch personal care, food, or beverage production.

This role will report to a Production Supervisor.

This is a full-time, on-site role with company benefits based in Brea, CA.

The anticipated base compensation range for this role will be $23.00 to $24.00. Compensation will be commensurate with the candidate's experience and local market rates.

What You'll Do:

  • Come in 30 minutes before the full Production shift start time to set up the team with oils/slurry/molds
  • Set direction for a team of employees and hold employees accountable
  • Collaborate with Ops Managers and Engineering to brainstorm continuous improvement ideas and process layouts
  • Troubleshoot bottlenecks and modify the work stream and operating roles to ensure goals are hit
  • Oversee production execution and help provide capacity/ expected output numbers
  • Ready to batch out oil, charge slurry tank, operate mixers, pour soap, push molds, demold, operate cutters, pressure wash, build molds, operate floor scrubber, scrape floors, and any other operating task when needed
  • Perform physical inventory counts of produced goods and document data in G-Sheets as required
  • Upload and track data, time studies, and attendance
  • Utilize Slack to communicate any downtime, roadblocks, and attendance issues
  • Ensure quality and safety standards are always met
  • Continuously improve R&D and production processes, occasionally pour scale-up sample requests from PD/Engineering
  • Able to work overtime when necessary

About You:

  • 2 years’ experience working and supervising a production line in a manufacturing facility
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Interest in health and wellness, personal care, and/or eCommerce industries
  • Experience working in the consumer products industry is highly preferred
  • Someone who gets things done without perfect resources is innovative and works with a sense of urgency
  • Someone who has high standards takes ownership and is invested in the outcome
  • Someone who proactively helps others stays positive and has a good sense of humor
