Production Engineer III

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Translate technical proposal packages into shop packages that include: final assembly drawing, unit assembly drawings, part drawings, material requirements, electrical schematics, plumbing schematics, geometric code, and other necessary materials
  • Provide design support and analysis for issues arising in manufacturing, purchasing, quality control, and the field
  • Ensure that all designs are reviewed for safety considerations and agency requirements
  • Assist in developing and improving engineering procedures
  • Perform additional assignments and/or duties as assigned by supervisor

LEVEL OF RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Fully developed professional able to work without direct guidance or direction from others
  • Has in depth knowledge of the discipline and role
  • Contributes to the team / department by applying their knowledge to one or more functional areas
  • Applies advanced skills to perform functions within the assigned area
  • Adapts new procedures, techniques and tools to meet the more complex requirements of the position
  • May train, assign and check the work of other employees

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to read and compare blueprints and sales orders
  • Math skills – general math, trigonometry, dimensions, metric conversion
  • Basic computer skills, MS Windows, Microsoft Office
  • Must be proficient with solid modeling and sheet metal, and 2D AutoCAD
  • Experience with sheet metal design and assembly practices
  • Detail oriented

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  •   B.S. degree with a concentration in Engineering or related field and 5+ years related experience or

  •   A.A. degree with a concentration in Engineering or related field and 8+ years related experience or

  •   Equivalent experience as a Designer (minimum 10 years related experience)
